And today I not only have a SEE beatiful (and also sea beautiful) treat - I also have a hear beautiful moment for you.
So, let's start with seeing the sea. This spot is at an overlook on a walk we take about once or twice a week down to the coast.
I love this spot because of the rocky beach. Most of the beaches here are sandy, or big boulders, so this beach is pretty unique. Listen to this wee video - after you hear the roar of the wave itself, there's another beautiful, soothing sound:
Did you hear the rocks are nestling against each other? (If not, crank up the volume and hit replay.) It sounds like rain. Your moment of zen for the day. (You're welcome!)
Remembering Beautiful
January 10th is not only the {This Moment} See Beautiful hop, it's also the 2nd anniversary of our angel Abby heading for the bridge. So, in her honor, here are a few beautiful moments from her.
Our gorgeous angel Abby |
Finally, just to show that you can see beautiful in everyday objects:

Thanks to Sugar for hosting the {This Moment} See Beautiful blog hop, and thanks to Miss Lydia, the founder of the See Beautiful movement. And extra thanks to them both for the lovely handmade soap and the bumper sticker they sent me!
Hope you see lots of beautiful today!
Dang, my sound doesn't work on my computer right now as it's slightly broken... I can imagine the noise in my head though :) I'm laughing out loud to your confession of drawing the eyeballs on the carton!
ReplyDeleteThe dairy should add some eyeballs to the packaging!
DeleteAWESOME moment of Zen! Thank you for that!! What a beautiful place for a walk!! Thanks for joining in the hop today and have a great weekend! xo Jeanne, Chloe and LadyBug
ReplyDeleteI could just listen to that on repeat ALL day!
DeleteLovely to stop and see the beauty that surrounds us which we miss when we are busy. Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Yes, you hit the nail on the head, Molly. We miss these things when we are "busy."
DeleteLove the milk. Abby has the most adorable face, it is a bit like Bailie with the markings. Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteYes, their faces are a bit similar. Miss that girl's sweet face - and her mischievous ways!
DeleteDid not know we had such a beach spot here. Beautiful. Thought it was central or northern CA for a moment. Can't believe it's been 2 years for Abby. Sure miss that crazy girl!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered it the other day. Most of the shoreline we walk by is big boulders. Weird how different the beach can be just a short way down the coast.
DeleteThank you thank you for the video clip. I miss the ocean and the sounds of the waves so much. ((sigh)) Love you milk carton and of course angel Abby. And a little something to brighten your day. I loaned my book, Rescue me maybe, to my friend. She read it in record time and loved it! They are here with us in Arizona and i could hear her laughing out loud. Thanks again. Next, I am loaning her What the dog ate.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know! So glad she loved it! Hope she likes WTDA as well!
DeleteThe video clip was bittersweet in its beauty. I hope in a way it continued to heal you as you made it. We continue to send see beautiful thoughts your way. Thank you so much for sharing. So happy to read that you received your soaps and bumper sticker! I'm sure I speak for Sugar and Rosalyn too when I say I hope you enjoy! Happy seeing beautiful.
ReplyDeleteP.S. LOVED the milk carton! Made me laugh outloud!
Oh, good - love to make folks laugh! :)
DeleteOK...the milk carton gave us a HUGE smile! Thank you. Here's to Seeing Beautiful all around us in 2014.

DeleteWell done and so very beautiful...I like your take on hearing beautiful...
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
Thank you for stopping by! :)
DeleteThanks for the beautiful beach and the soothing sound of the water!
ReplyDeleteI love that sound. I could sit there all day!
DeleteI love the sound of the ocean, it's so soothing :) Abby looks like she was a sweetie, we are sorry for your loss but glad you're celebrating her life.
ReplyDeleteAbby looked like a sweetie, but was actually a HUGE mischief maker! She was a nutty girl. Remembering her with more smiles than tears today, so that's a plus.
DeleteYou remind me that we haven't been to the ocean for a couple of months. (we can't just walk there) It does recharge our batteries when we go...me because of the timeless ebb and flow. And the dogs because they usually find something stinky to roll in. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL. That's so funny. To each their own...
DeleteWhy does it say Janh above?
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I had the same problem w/ Wordpress comments. It said "Jackie Bouchardj" for the longest time and I couldn't figure out how to fix it!
DeleteA beautiful angel and beautiful ocean sounds

Mr Bailey, Hazel & Greta
Oh, pug-hugs. The best kind!
DeleteI'm so sorry about the loss of your angel Abby. Great idea you had to do hearing, sounds can be soothing and beautiful. I'm sorry the Merle thing made your grieving harder, I'm going to take it down as you were the second person who said that. I apologize, I didn't think about it that way in advance but I should have. Have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh, no - it's okay. I would normally have read it - it was just the timing with today being the anniversary and all. (I totally agree about the power of smell! I still remember our first pup's smell - it was a combo of peanut butter and tortilla chips.)
DeleteSo jealous of your 'walk" scenery. LOVE that "roar of waves" sound :-) For sure Abby is smiling today ... once reason you saw that "milk" smiley. Happy Seeing Beauty. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDelete((((hugs)))) to you about Abby...I know how hard it is. Ohhh I am soooooo jealous of your WARM and beautiful view!
ReplyDeleteAbby was beautiful! I wish we had a beautiful beach to walk on but nothing like that here in Oklahoma!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more beautiful than the ocean, and the sound of it is so soothing. That was a great way to start my day listening to that (thanks for the hint on the volume). The photos of Abby are beautiful. And very creative with the milk carton! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty girl
ReplyDeleteRetro Rover
Very lovely and the waves hitting the rocks was really beautiful. Bless your girl Abby sorry for your 2 year loss. She was beautiful in itself.
ReplyDeleteI was about to ask where you got milk with eyeballs. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of a beautiful pup.
I love the ocean too, and I try to make a point of walking to the beach with my dog every Friday. We are so fortunate to live so close where we have that opportunity. Sometimes I take it for granted.
ReplyDeleteYour Abby was a very pretty dog.
What a wonderful post. I love hearing the sea. Beautiful pictures of Abby.
ReplyDeleteI love this, and DANG woman, you did a great job drawing on the eyes. :-)
