Wordless Wednesday: Sleepover Aftermath

Remember when I mentioned that Rita and Reggie were going to have a sleepover at Reggie's house? It was a success! (Hooray! Good news, since we trade dog-sitting for each other.)

It was a success... but that doesn't mean it wasn't a little nutty. It was reported to me by my sis that Rita was "good as gold," and Reggie was.... well, a little excited about the whole deal. My sis has no photos of the sleepover. Well, she does - but they're all blurry.

I have some of the next day when I went to pick up Rita.
"Please. I've had enough!"

Apparently they played for 90 minutes straight when I first dropped Rita off. Whenever my sis & her hubs tried to separate the two of them for some rest (for all involved), Reggie would cry and carry on. So, at bed time they had to trick him into thinking she'd gone home!

Although calmer, he was still a little full of it the next morning:
"I'm still full of it, Aunt Jackie!"

"Wanna play, Aunt Jackie? Huh? Do ya'?!"
Rita gave in and played a wee bit more

When we got home, she looked like this the rest of the day:
DO NOT DISTURB
And -- cuz you know you want it -- here's a bonus pic of Reg. He's all ears.
"I can hear you now. And now. Yep. Still hear you."
Okay, and one more bonus pic of his ginormous feet.

Happy Slightly-Less-Wordy Wednesday!

  2. Can we come next time?! It looks like sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun (and we are really good at face-bitey!!)
P.S. I hadn't realized it before but Reggie is quite the fluffy. Fluffy's are so cute but everyone I have ever known with one says never again because their fur is so difficult to care for.

    1. Yep, he's a fluff for sure. Today is his first trim. The trimming part will be work, but overall he is nowhere near the shedder our previous gorgeous corgi, Lou, was. So there are trade-offs.

  3. Glad it was a success and good fun. Have a wonderful Wednesday and stay cool.

  4. Literally laughing out loud. Now Rita knows how Jeffie and Rudy feel about Rosie ;-) Love those photos!

  5. Sounds like Reggie is one of those "high-energy" Cardis!

  6. Glad it went okay! It's important to have someone to trade sleepovers with - and nice to have a completely exhausted pup sometimes!

  7. It's nice that you have someone to trade dog-sitting with.

  8. Lovely Rita - such a good cousin. The pictures are so cute - love the one of Rita saying 'take me home'. Nothing like a good game of bite-face to knock out the energy in a high energy pup. Seems like Reggie has some energizer bunny energy!

  9. Too cute. Reggie's ears just bust me up.

  10. BOL That sounds like a wild sleepover!! I am so glad it went well. Now let Rita get as much rest as she needs!

  11. Rita imagine this...everyday our house is like that with maggie and gussie playing, playing and playing...it is so exhausting to watch this go on day in and day out...i have to rest cos my eyeballs hurt from going back and forth watching them running throughout the house, and playing bitey face and on and on.....

    1. Oh, Stella Rose, that sounds so exhausting for poor little you! Rita feels your pain!

  13. Rita, your pictures and captions had me laughing. I'm glad you and Reggie had a good time. Typical kids wanting to stay up all night playing.

    1. Yep, he was just like an excited little kid! And you should see how he ignores me when I take Rita over there - he only has eyes for her!

  14. Reggie's Mom here. The real "success" of the sleepover came when there was actual sleeping -- serious, out-like-a-rock sleeping for all four of us. This did require hiding Rita, but luckily she loves snoozing on the love seat in the den and was quiet as a mouse all night. Reggie was so happily surprised to see her still here Sunday morning! (P.S. I know it sounds like I am a horrible photographer, but the truth is, those two never stayed still long enough, and I don't have the fancy sports setting Jackie does.)

  15. Bitey Face - the best game ever! Just ask Max, he will tell you that ;-)

  16. Ahaha, that looked and sounded so fun! I can imagine a night with your doggies would be so funny! Glad they enjoyed it!

  18. New meaning to the term "R&R"- that was not rest and relaxation!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, for sure - R&R (as in Reggie & Rita) does not equal R&R (as in rest & relaxation)!

  19. I bet they had fun even if it was a bit tiring! :)

  20. Hehe how funny! That's a pretty good idea to trick him into thinking she'd gone home. Wonder how they managed that?

    1. When he went outback for his last before-bed pee, they took her out front. Then smuggled her into the den where she slept! So funny.

  25. Awww... looks like they had an awesome time, even if it did totally wipe Rita out. Great pics and captions (as always)! The look on her face in the third pic down is priceless.

  26. Sleepovers are pawsome! The more they are together and the older they get the less crazy they will be. We used to be so wild when my friends came to my B&B, but now it is all old hat. We still have fun but we aren't nuts! Correction, over the Fourth of July was an exception because Buddy and Lena were new to each other so they were nuts and were both dead after 4 days of play!

  27. I've never been to a sleep over. This looks too much fun. I can play bitey face all day!

  28. I love Rita & Reggie posts. They are the cutest dog duo ever! And, Jackie, your picture captions are hilarious! It's funny because I have 3 dogs and they never play with each other. They just like playing with humans and toys. Maybe familiarity breeds contempt? They're used to seeing their siblings all the time, so they don't get excited about each other.

  29. WHAT FUN!! I would love to be a fly on the wall for THAT!

  31. That was just so darn cute! I've forgotten just how rambunctious those puppies can be. Has Rita recovered yet? :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha Reggie is out playing Rita? Those little pups have so much energy!!

Rita looks how I do when I get home from Cosmo's house, sleepovers are so much fun, but you do need a week to recover after! :)

    Sweet dreams Rita
