As I said before, the cover includes this gorgeous girl! (The dog - not me!)
Next it's on to writing a "blurb" about the book - you know, the paragraph or so that entices you to part with your $2.99 and commit to reading all 300 pages. I've got a really rough one, but it needs lots o' work. And there's also formatting to be done! Busy busy.
So, because I'm busy busy and so are you, let's just get to the mirth-watching. It's time for... "True Facts About the Tarsier" (Warning - there are a coupla mild four-letter words in here) And, I know...it's not dog related... but the tarsier kinda looks like a cross between a pug, a chihuahua and... maybe a blowfish. So.. kinda like a little, puffy dog.
Thank you to Flea for enlightening me about these True Facts videos. These are by the same guy, Ze Frank, who did the Sad Dog and Sad Cat Diaries. (Remember when I posted about those?) There are several of these, and the Tarsier one above seems to have the fewest swear words and very little sex/poop humor (but all in the name of education about interesting animals!). So, if you're not into swear words and a little bit of sex/poop humor (even if in the name of education about interesting animals), then you should not look up any of the others. But... if you are okay with it, then you should visit YouTube and check out some of the others, especially the sloth, aye-aye and duck videos. (Holy cow. Ducks. Who knew??)
Hundreds of thousands of folks have already seen these, so you may have too, but I was clueless. Thank you, Flea for enlightening me.
Now then... back to work!
Good luck with your writing the blurb. Look forward to reading it and good luck with your new project. Have a terrific Thursday and stay cool.

Hilarious. The narrator busted me up with interjections and laughing.
ReplyDeleteI know - his interjections are so damn funny. I laugh every time I watch it.
DeleteThat was funny! And a funny-looking little animal! I need to watch a few more of those videos....they are fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try and remember to do this at home. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yes... this one is not too bad, but I suppose I should have put a "NSFW" thing on it. I totally forgot about that acronym. You could probably get away with this one at work - but the others, probably not! :)
DeleteBOL! That video is hilarious! Thank you for the laugh.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting everything done for your book!!! I can't wait to see it.
I love the guys who make that video! He's hysterical. I like the baby echidna video the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6kAE06mJAQ
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you're going to do with your new book. If it comes out on Apple books or whatever it's called, I'll definitely grab a copy :)
Too funny - I hadn't seen the echidna one yet.
DeleteMom and I are at about the same stage with my book right now. Writing that forward, dedication and the back cover are so much harder than the rest of the book - we totally understand! Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteThat was too funny! Thanks for sharing it. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave fun working on that blurb. And re-working it. And re-working it some more. ;-) A writer's work is never done, is it?
Jackie, can't wait to hear more about your next book!! Will look for updates. I'm sorry, couldn't watch the video, that creature scared me :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend and happy finishing up your writing.
