He will pretty much always fall for this and give her at least a little something.
Works every time. She has him wrapped around her little dewclaw.

In Other News...
An essay I wrote on "7 Ways You Can Help a Dog in Need" was published on the popular Popsugar site. I know you Big Time Dog Lovers already know all of this stuff, but hopefully there are some ideas here that some folks hadn't thought of, including some easy-peasy ways to help!
Thanks to My Brown Newfies for hosting Monday Mischief! Visit My Brown Newfies to see the other blogs in the hop!
WOOHOO! I'm rich! When you are unemployed even $25 dollars sounds like a lot! How exciting to win the gift card. Thank you.... I'm still going to keep looking in Walmarts!
ReplyDeletePS Our dogs pull the same thing on us....It's no wonder they had both gained weight at their last vet-check!
Yay! Glad you won and are excited! I need to keep looking too. I only looked at one so far. Need to go see what I can find at the other Walmarts in town.
DeleteGlad to hear the dog-daddy is not the only one who caves! :)
Congrats to the winners! Rita is such a smartie. I keep dog treats in a cookie jar on the kitchen counter and my dogs like to look at that cookie jar expectantly, then at us. Repeat (as many times as it takes to get a treat.) LOL
ReplyDeletelol. They're excellent communicators, aren't they?!
DeleteLOL Rita is a smart cookie. Congrats to the book winners. My Walmart is lame. They did not have your book. Phooey.
ReplyDeleteOh, phooey! It's weird. I don't know how they picked which ones it would be at. My sister's friend found the book at her Walmart and they live in a fairly small town.
DeleteWe keep the treats in a cupboard. If they only had thumbs....
ReplyDeleteRight?! That would be so dangerous! There would have to be padlocks everywhere.
DeleteHarley's got Doodle Dad wrapped around his little paw. He scratches Lee's leg like a cat and Lee is programed to go to the treater. #sosad #socute
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute!
DeleteI love how dogs can learn how little effort it takes to train some humans.
ReplyDeleteEspecially husbands. Am I right??
DeleteCocoa has Rodney wrapped around her little paw too :) So funny. And yay on your article on PopSugar!! That is awesome. I tried to comment but couldn't so I'll try back later.
ReplyDeleteFunny how these pups know how to get their dog-daddys' numbers!
DeleteRita's got your husband well trained! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners as well, we loved your book.
She does have him very well trained. I wish I had him trained so well....
DeleteThat's one advantage we have - no regular treat location. However, if tomatoes are being sliced in the pantry, there is a small stampede!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny that they love tomatoes. Rita probably wouldn't eat a tomato if it was the last thing available!
DeleteI can see how!
ReplyDeleteShe is awfully cute. And he is pretty easy to train....
DeleteThat was one of the first things they warned us about when we took Bailey to dog training in his puppy years. Learn to resist the cute looks or he'll rule the roost.
ReplyDeleteLuckily she doesn't rule the roost - only the daddy! :)
DeleteWe are LOVIN House Trained, the hubby and I are reading it together. :-) Shasta has his dog daddy wrapped around his little paw as well!!
ReplyDeleteAs Shasta should!
DeleteYay! Glad you are loving the book! :)
Rita is too clever! What a funny girl! Congrats to the winners! :D
ReplyDeleteShe is a funny girl!
DeleteTrust me! Cats to the exact same thing!! :)
ReplyDeleteSmart kitty!
DeleteMr. N knows we're pretty strict about treats but he also knows that strangers are more willing to give into his wiles!
ReplyDeleteHe's so smart! He must love it when you have visitors!
DeleteCongrats to the winner. Love Rita's way of getting treats!
ReplyDeleteShe should be working for those treats! Beast! If only I could train the daddy....
Deletethat works on my Mom too! Congrats to the winner they will love it! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
ReplyDeleteWell, the daddy will be glad he's not the only one!
DeleteBahahaha - that's funny! Blueberry likes to stick her head in the fridge (that's where the treats are) and as the door makes its slow way towards the closed position she will very very s l o w l y back her head out, hopeful til the end that she will get a treat before the door completely shuts. I'm pretty sure she'd like it if I cleared some room on the bottom shelf so she could just climb in next to her treats. I am so mean - I keep them in an open container on the bottom shelf so whenever the door is open, that's the first thing she smells.
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny! Rita is only interested in our fridge when the cheese drawer gets opened!
DeleteGood trick Rita! Mom was in Walmart Saturday and went by the book section and saw Rescue Me Maybe on the shelf! she took a picture but now can't figure out how to get it off her phone - sheeesh! Congrats to the winners!
ReplyDeletehugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
Oh, that's nice that you looked for the book! Too bad you couldn't get the pic over to me to enter! Shoot! Thanks for looking!
Deletedaddies and their little girls....
ReplyDeleteI know, right?
DeleteWe dogs know who the weaker humans are. My gramma is one of them so we hang out by her treat cupboard when we visit.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Yep!
DeleteOh yes dog daddy is an easy target at our house too! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteThs seems a common thing among dog daddies!
DeleteI cave too and give my gang treats when they sniff the treat drawer. Congrats to the winners!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard when they're so darn cute, isn't it?!
DeleteBentley is the world's worst at looking for the treats and being pitiful. They really can make suckers out of us, can't they? ☺
ReplyDeleteOh those hounds! Our beagle was great at pulling the pitiful look too. She would literally suck her cheeks in so she looked emaciated!
DeleteRita has that down! Sherman is like that too, all he has to do is flash his big brown eyes!
ReplyDeletePretty clever of these so-called dumb animals to do that rather on cue! :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh...Rita has the hubs well trained!
ReplyDeleteDogs have a way of knowing. My dogs sit in front of the daddy because he lets them lick his plate. They also sit in the kitchen because he feeds them cheese. Many times you hear this in our house, "I'm the Mama, not the Daddy, I don't share my food." LOL
