A Book's Birthday - In Pictures

I thought I'd share with y'all some of the highlights of today, my new book's birthday, and let you know what Pub Day is like!

To start your book's birthday, you wake up all excited that your book is out. But your dog is all like "Whatever. Can we play? Can we go for a walk? Let's do SOMETHING!"
"Whatevs, Momma!"
So you go for a walk, and then come home and start getting lots of sweet messages like this one I got on Facebook from my author pal Dee DeTarsio pictured with her adorable grand-puppy:

And you get nice emails from your friends who are excited for you, like the one I got from my other author pal Peggy Frezon with this adorable picture of her Kelly:

And your friends email and text and post on your Facebook page to say they are going to go hunt for your book at Walmart - even though they don't really like to shop at Walmart! #GoodFriends (If you go hunting, check out my giveaway! I think odds will be good you could win!)

And then it gets even better when you get roses from your publicist! (But then your dog is jealous and tries to eat them.)

And then you get a super sweet present from your whole publishing team, with the name of your pup plus the names of your fictional pups. (#LOVE!)

And you spend most of the day checking your Amazon ranking (#1 at the moment in "Literary Humor"!), and stressing about the two spoiler-y reviews that people left, and hoping there will be lots of nice reviews posted before the bad ones start to come out. (Because they're out there - they're inevitable!)

And then you go out to dinner to celebrate! (Okay, I don't normally take my book along out to eat, but my sis brought the copy she ordered so I could sign it.)
Mmmm. Biscuits. Mmmm. Moscow mules!
And then the next day you get back to work on the next book!
I always draw up a calendar to map out the action

We are so worried about Jeffie....we so hope he can pull through this. Poor guy, and poor Sue and her family. We all know how stressful it is to have our babies sick, and especially when you don't know what's going on.
