Yard-Saling Dogs - On the Sell Side

Remember when I posted about yard-saling dogs last month? Well, last time the dogs were on the buying side, but this time they were on the selling side.

My sisters and I met up last weekend to hit my one sis's 'hood's annual garage sales event. It was a lot of fun, and there were a lot of cute dogs.

This little girl was selling cute, and she was selling it hard! (And I am always in the market for cute!)

This little guy was irresistible! We saw him chilling on a sofa while his dad was selling his wares. I have to admit, I was much more interested in checking this pup out than the goods. So cute!

We also saw this little cutie keeping an eye on us from inside the house...

...as well as this gorgeous girl who wanted to say hi and get chin rubs.

Okay, it wasn't all petting puppies. I did do a bit of shopping as well. I bought a few things, including some things I actually needed!

And I even bought something for Rita: a runner for the hallway. (For $2!!)
Rita's rug
You may be wondering why Rita would want a runner for the hallway, but she does.

Because the treats are kept in the pantry, right off the hallway, and it's nice to have a rug to relax on when you're munching a cookie!
(She's munching here, not growling!)
Oh! I almost forgot! There was one other gorgeous pup we saw when we went shopping: Reggie!
Rita was very annoyed with me when I came home smelling like Reggie!

But wait... there's more! Just one more thing I have to share... Did you know that if you don't harvest an artichoke it turns into a beautiful purple flower?? These were in someone's yard while we were "saling." I had no idea! So pretty!

  2. I love yard sales, too! You never know what little treasure you will find. The runner looks great.

P.S.: We are having a fun giveaway this week. Hope you will stop by.

  3. That rug looks perfect there. And much more comfy for snack-chewing.

I loved that little Lewis with his pink spotted belly. I wanted to buy him!

    1. I couldn't believe the screaming deal I got on that rug! And it matches the other rugs I have in the house perfectly. AND Rita likes it!

  7. I knew exactly why Rita wanted a runner. My dogs will walk backward because they don't want to plop their bottoms on cold hard wood.

    1. She doesn't like the hardwood because she can't get any 'purchase.' I should take a video of how she goes from sit to down on the hardwood - she just slides backwards into it. It's so funny.

    1. I know, right?? If I grew them I wouldn't be able to decide whether to eat them or let them turn into pretty flowers!

  10. Finally, a good use of an artichoke. Hehehehe - not a fan of the artichoke, but I do admit that flower makes up for their taste! ;)

  11. Nice buy! I like the pattern. We have carpet which Mr. N enjoys. I'd prefer hardwood!

  13. Love Rita's new rug and have to say I'd be more interested in the dogs than the yard sale wares :-) I did know that about artichokes. I love them and so do all three dogs. (Yes, seriously. They prefer steamed with a curry dip.)

  14. You can sell me on cute any day. :-) Did not know that about the artichoke, I like artichoke but the flower is easier to look at than the plant is to eat. Did that make sense? LOL

  15. What's better than getting some good bargains and getting to pet lots of pups to boot? When we used to have yard sales I'd usually have Kobi out front with me. He was the only one calm enough, and he loved all of the attention!

  16. When we were stationed in KS, yard sales were so much fun. You found true treasures. I haven't gone to many here in VA, they all resemble people wanting to get rich off of really junky stuff. I miss those KS City days :(
