My sisters and I met up last weekend to hit my one sis's 'hood's annual garage sales event. It was a lot of fun, and there were a lot of cute dogs.
This little girl was selling cute, and she was selling it hard! (And I am always in the market for cute!)
This little guy was irresistible! We saw him chilling on a sofa while his dad was selling his wares. I have to admit, I was much more interested in checking this pup out than the goods. So cute!
We also saw this little cutie keeping an eye on us from inside the house...
...as well as this gorgeous girl who wanted to say hi and get chin rubs.
Okay, it wasn't all petting puppies. I did do a bit of shopping as well. I bought a few things, including some things I actually needed!
And I even bought something for Rita: a runner for the hallway. (For $2!!)
Rita's rug |
Because the treats are kept in the pantry, right off the hallway, and it's nice to have a rug to relax on when you're munching a cookie!
(She's munching here, not growling!) |
Rita was very annoyed with me when I came home smelling like Reggie!
But wait... there's more! Just one more thing I have to share... Did you know that if you don't harvest an artichoke it turns into a beautiful purple flower?? These were in someone's yard while we were "saling." I had no idea! So pretty!
Sounds like a great day. I love the artichoke flowers. Who knew?
ReplyDeleteI certainly didn't know!
DeleteI love yard sales, too! You never know what little treasure you will find. The runner looks great.
ReplyDeleteP.S.: We are having a fun giveaway this week. Hope you will stop by.
Thanks!
DeleteI'll stop by!
That rug looks perfect there. And much more comfy for snack-chewing.
ReplyDeleteI loved that little Lewis with his pink spotted belly. I wanted to buy him!
Yeah, too bad he wasn't on sale for a bargain!
DeleteLook at all those cute cute dogs, what a fun day. And the artichokes...who knew.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very fun day indeed! I got some good stuff, we met cute dogs, and we went out for a tasty lunch after!
Deletevery cute! I always want to go in shops with dogs or cats in the city

Yep, nothing like a dog to pull me into your shop or yard sale!
DeleteWhat a fun day, full of cool discoveries and dog friends. I really like the rug too!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe the screaming deal I got on that rug! And it matches the other rugs I have in the house perfectly. AND Rita likes it!
DeleteI knew exactly why Rita wanted a runner. My dogs will walk backward because they don't want to plop their bottoms on cold hard wood.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't like the hardwood because she can't get any 'purchase.' I should take a video of how she goes from sit to down on the hardwood - she just slides backwards into it. It's so funny.
DeleteHow fun to see all the dogs! We love artichokes - who new they make pretty flowers!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?? If I grew them I wouldn't be able to decide whether to eat them or let them turn into pretty flowers!
DeleteI bet Rita wished she had gone along!
ReplyDeleteFinally, a good use of an artichoke. Hehehehe - not a fan of the artichoke, but I do admit that flower makes up for their taste! ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are some cute pups!
ReplyDeleteNice buy! I like the pattern. We have carpet which Mr. N enjoys. I'd prefer hardwood!
ReplyDeleteYou do see lots of cute pups on your yard-saling outings!
ReplyDeleteLove Rita's new rug and have to say I'd be more interested in the dogs than the yard sale wares :-) I did know that about artichokes. I love them and so do all three dogs. (Yes, seriously. They prefer steamed with a curry dip.)
ReplyDeleteYou can sell me on cute any day. :-) Did not know that about the artichoke, I like artichoke but the flower is easier to look at than the plant is to eat. Did that make sense? LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat's better than getting some good bargains and getting to pet lots of pups to boot? When we used to have yard sales I'd usually have Kobi out front with me. He was the only one calm enough, and he loved all of the attention!

When we were stationed in KS, yard sales were so much fun. You found true treasures. I haven't gone to many here in VA, they all resemble people wanting to get rich off of really junky stuff. I miss those KS City days :(
ReplyDeleterita you rug is great! I didn't know about the artichoke how pretty
