Monday Mischief: It Is Evil and Must Be Destroyed

Last week we brought something new into the house. A harmless BOSU ball (which the hubs wanted to help build strength and balance).

However, the bosu ball was accompanied by a force for evil that we, obviously, did not recognize as such when it came into our midst.

Luckily, Rita - Defender of the Realm - was at the ready and alerted us to the intruder.

For some reason, she decided the pump that came with the BOSU ball was evil. And she proceeded to attack it:
Luckily, Daddy stepped in and saved the day. (And also saved the pump from being punctured.) Thank you, Daddy.

Does your dog ever "save" you from evil items that lurk in your home?

  1. Rita is so cute, and I'm so glad that she has taken on the responsibility for your safety, especially from these frightening objects! Livvie mainly likes to protect us from doggies barking outside!

    1. Luckily she doesn't protect us TOOO much from that - cuz we have some barky dogs across the canyon from us. So glad she doesn't bark back at them!

    1. Our Abby was always after evil socks as well. For some reason, Rita doesn't realize the threat there!

  3. Who knows what evil lurks inside the...BOSU ball pump? I would trust Rita. Dogs know things.

    1. So funny cuz she didn't even pay attention to it until we put it away on the shelf. But, yes, clearly she knows things we don't!

    1. The funny thing is that she didn't pay much attention to it when the hubs was using it (and it was making the funny noise) but for some reason it caught her attention sitting (quietly) on the shelf.

  8. Oh Rita what would they do without you? Coco saves us from our nemesis, the dust on the fan, which is actually helpful because it means that it is time to do a little cleaning.

  9. I just got a ball with a similar pump. Indy did not find it evil but was a tad concerned about the funny wheezing noises. Which sound not unlike me these days when I get up from a seated position.

  10. The dogs know. If only humans would heed our warnings.

  11. Oh we are on evil alert all the times, we bark at things our momma and daddy cannot even see, we are THAT good, Maggie is the best of all of us though she often is the bravest when there are noises of intruders outside of the windows.

  12. We have been amazed through the years to find out how many seemingly benign objects contained forces of evil. If they survived early attacks we always put them in dark reaches so the evil could be contained. Feel safe with Rita on guard.

    1. Yes, the pump's evil has been "contained" by shoving it way back in on the shelf (luckily our shelves are quite deep) and closing the door!

  13. Oh, that evil, evil pump. Hunny uses one of the giant exercise balls to stretch out his back muscles at the beginning and end of each day. Tell Rita that the ball is GOOD.

    1. Luckily she doesn't mind the ball! We had one of those big exercise balls before too, and Abby wanted to play with it! Dog teeth + exercise ball = not good.

  15. BOL! Oh good work Rita! Shiner hasn't really done this before, but she has barked at strange objects outside. She keeps a safe distance from them because I think she's scared. Once, it was a black plastic trash bag full of leaves lol..

  16. Anything bigger than a breadbox is suspect around here. Sheba won't enter the same room with anything new. So no, she doesn't try to save us from it, we're pretty much on our own.
Before we brought Luke home we had his crate in every room in the house so that Sheba would get used to it, and not blame the new puppy for a possibly scary new big thing being in the house!

  17. No evil things in the house. Although we just found out that our neighbor has rats (not pet ones) so Mr. N is officially on rat patrol!

  21. She didn't want you to pump it up and then expect her to work on her core by balancing on it!

  22. Outside he sees evil doers everywhere. The time he begged night after night to go out at 3 am and then barked like a mad dog, and finall when I ran out in my nightie to get him before the neighbors called the cops I saw that he was barking at the shadow from the bird feeder...

  23. Thanks so much for your lovely, supportive comments, you rock! :)

Great job Rita for keeping them all safe!! Sometimes I see scary things trying to get in through the fireplace (there's glass in front of it), so I sit and stare them away before they get through the glass to my humans! :)

    I hope you're having a fun day,

    Your pal Snoopy :)
