Mirth Watch Thursday: We Are the Furred

My mother-in-law told us about this video that she saw on TV in Canada. (Maybe in between footage of Toronto's mayor Rob Ford's latest exploits?) It's sort of a "We Are the World"-style video (hence the post title), as you'll see:

Isn't that so cute? It makes me a little teary-eyed, thinking of our hero, Abby. (Teary-eyed in a good way; after all, this is Mirth Watch Thursday, not Ugly-Cry Watch Thursday!) I thought it was kinda perfect since around here we like to give cancer the paw!

I didn't really have much time to look into PetTrust.ca that much, but here's their blurb from their site:
Pet Trust is Canada’s first charitable fund entirely dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of companion animals, like dogs and cats. Knowing that cancer currently takes the lives of 1 in 4 dogs and 1 in 8 cats, Pet Trust created the Keep Cancer on a Leash campaign to not only raise awareness of animal cancer, but to raise money for the treatment of dogs and cats with cancer at the Ontario Veterinary College Mona Campbell Animal Cancer Centre at the University of Guelph. The Animal Cancer Centre is one of the leading animal care centres in North America, providing outstanding cancer care and treatment for dogs and cats from all over the world.

Just a head's up (snout's up?)... if you go to their site, there's a barking dog on the home page, so you might want to turn the sound down. Rita wondered what was going on!

Also... Rita wants to wish her Aunt Linda a Happy Birthday!

Go forth and be mirthful!

  2. I'm a little disappointed the video didn't have a version where you listened to the dogs bark and howl and the words were subtitled underneath. :)

  5. I'm always impressed by how much time and artistry goes into a few second video like this. And I always wonder if the dogs had voice lessons. My dogs are hardly musical.

  6. Mom will have to listen to it in private so we all don't start howling along.

  7. Oh my dog - what a pawsome video! I love it! Do you know, I talk like this in real life now. It's sad, really. People look at me funny when I say out loud, "That's pawsome!"
