Forget Puss in Boots; It's Pup in Socks!

My niece is a graphic artist (okay, technically she brands herself as a "professional weirdo"). Here we are snap-chatting at her wedding earlier this year. (I do not snap-chat, but my niece does and of course, knowing me as she does, she knew the dog filter would be the most appropriate.)
I recently ordered pairs of her "happy ghost" and "sad ghost" socks. (Figured they would be like a mood barometer and I could wear whichever pair was called for on the given day.) I had no idea that Rita would be so interested in them!

Of course, she's always interested in any package that comes to the house. She thinks everything is for her.
"Mine!"
Since she was so interested in the socks...
"Hey! I thought the package was for me!"
...I thought she might like to try them on.

Since she's a worrier (like Momma) I figured the sad ghost socks were the appropriate choice for her.
"Uh...I changed my mind. I don't want these after all..."
That is one saaaaad puppy. (Don't worry - she was richly compensated for her troubles.)
"My life is hard."

    1. My niece's stuff is very popular with girls - she's got like 50K Instagram followers. So, yeah, your niece definitely might like her stuff!

  2. Rita has the most expressive eyes! I bet she has wheedled (OMD! A W word I haven't used on my blog!) more than a few treats from you with those!

    1. OH! I expect to see a "wheedled" post featuring Wilson soon!

And, yes, she does have expressive eyes! They mostly express her disdain, boredom, or severe hunger!

  3. The socks are adorable. I bought those cute doggy books some time ago for one of our previous pups (I think Cooper) to wear outside in the winter because he had sensitive feet. Yep, I don't know who invented those things because putting them on was a surefire way to assure that he wasn't walking anywhere - or even moving for that fact. I am amazed at anyone who can get their pup to function in them. Rita does look miserable - the things we do to our "kids." I'll be sure to check out the blogs you mentioned!

    1. Haha. Yes, those boots for dogs - I don't know how folks get their dogs to wear them either. I'll never forget this little Chi was saw when we were visiting Montreal - his pawrents had put boots on him, and he'd try to kick them off with every single step. So hysterical to watch. Pretty sure he rather would have been cold!

    2. Cole and my lab Chelsea wore boots. They both forgot about them the minute we left the house, walking fine. Worked great. Had to protect Chelsea's feet from allergens, and Cole had a problem with ice balls in deep snow. Poodle hair.

    3. Oh yes the poodle hair. My poodle wore booties in the rain, and morning dew, and if the sprinklers just ran :) because she just didn't like getting her feet wet.

  7. Oh my dog, that is hilarious! She has the same look Shasta does when I pull out the camera! He is also compensated well, but hasn't seemed to connect the compensation with the camera. BOL

  8. Tell poor Rita not to feel so bad. We just got a package with socks in the mail and they really are for Cricket! (to help her with traction because of her arthritis). I imagine I'll be seeing that same tragic look when I try to get them on her! :)

    1. Oh, I hope she'll like them! We'll need to see pics of her in them! (And I'll tell Rita - she'll be sorry for Cricket!)

  9. My goodness, she has such a long face! My pug is a worrier like that, too. But I can't imagine him standing still for a photo with socks. He'd be in the other room in a flash!

    1. I know - I honestly couldn't believe she let me put those things on her, and then stood there for the photo. She's a funny girl.

  11. Great photos and socks! Rita does look a little concerned about what she's gotten herself into, too funny! Has it steered her off an interest in packages?

    1. No, it hasn't! You'd think it would, but she still dives for everything I bring in the house!

  13. LMAO!! The captions on these photos = priceless :) Adorable. I hope she was compensated for her worry (my pup makes the same faces like, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Can we please trade lives for a day?!) ha!

Also Snapchat is addicting. I don't do it near enough but the filters are always fun :)

    1. The filters are the only part of it that appeal to me. :) Instagram needs to add those filters and then my life would be complete.

And, yes, she was richly compensated for her pains. :)
