Know Kids Who Love Dogs? Two-book #Giveaway!

At the Doggie Street Festival on Saturday, I met two fabulous ladies who've both written great kids' books about dogs. Since we don't have any ankle biters young kids in our family, I decided I'd do a giveaway. Both copies are signed by the authors!
Rita gives both books two dewclaws up!
First up is Not Like the Others - Harley's Story: Having a Pet with Special Needs. I mentioned meeting author Denise Gruzensky in yesterday's post. Harley was Denise's rescue pup, and he became a diabetic. The book teaches elementary-school-age kids about unconditional love, and is full of wonderful color photos of Harley and his loving family. Check out Denise's site to learn more.

Since I wrote Rescue Me, Maybe about our 3-legged girl, Abby, I've got a softspot for stories about special needs pups. (Shameless Shameful self promo: don't forget, Rescue Me, Maybe is on sale for 99c thru next week!)

Next up is JJ the American Street Dog and How He Came to Live in Our House. Author Diane Rose-Solomon has written a very sweet series about JJ, a rescue pup. This book is the first in a series, and tells the story of Maya, who has always wanted a pup of her own. Maya and her family learn about homeless animals and how they can be part of the solution to end pet overpopulation. The book won a Mom's Choice Award! Check out Diane's site to learn more.

This book hits another one of my softspots - rescue pups! (Hey! Maybe some of you met Diane... she went to BlogPaws!)

I'm sure if you have little ones in your family, they'll love these books!

The giveaway is open to US only (sorry non-US peeps!).

To enter, just leave a comment, by next Wed. the 23rd at midnight PDT, and make sure I know how to reach you if you win! I'll choose the winner next Thursday via Random.org and announce the winner on Friday!

Thanks for reading, and thanks to Heart Like a Dog and 2 Brown Dawgs for hosting Barks and Bytes!

  2. Sadly I don't have small children any more, but these sound like really good books, not just the sentimental stories of children and their best friends. Not that there is anything wrong with sentiment.
