Follow-Up Fri.: A Fair Follow-Up + Puppies for Sale!

A Fair Follow-Up
Remember when were a little bummed that we didn't win the blue ribbon this year (awarded for first place in the needle felting "class") at the fair? BUT, on the plus side, we won the Big Green Ribbon for a "special award" for the Best Theme entry??
Gotta  love a big, shiny ribbon!
Well, my sis went to pic up our entries on Monday and it turns out that Big Green Ribbon came with a nice "green" prize - 100 bucks! Whoohoo!

Plus we got small cash prizes for getting 2nd place for the corgis and 3rd place for "Meet the Beagles." Whoohoo.

So, we met up to divide the winnings (whoohoo), and dismantle our entries (boohoo).

Wish we could have left that Abbey Road entry together - cuz it made me smile every time I looked at it - but the 2 bigger corgis already belonged to someone, so they had to go home.

But... the dismantling of both this year and last year's entries, means we have homeless wooly pups.

We decided to try to sell them for $25 each, and I figured I'd give you guys first crack at them. If you see a pup you like, let me know. I can send more pics or size info if you are interested.

Puppies for Sale
So, here goes... puppies on parade... (click on any pics to "bigify")

A sort of poodle-mix looking pup... SOLD

A Schnauzy... SOLD

2 Pembroke Corgis

A... muttly of some sort.  SOLDNot gonna lie... This dog started out TRYING to be a Golden, but the body was way too small, and rather than bulk it up, we just set it aside, and started over on the Golden we were making. Came back to the little critter later and made her (him? No, definitely a "her.") into what I like to think of as a long-haired Doxie-mix.

An adorable (if I do say so myself...) Beagle SOLD

Let me know if any of these guys grab your fancy!

Caption These Pups Follow-Up
Ya know that big loveable hound, Bella, that was trying to kiss me in the photo I posted for Wordless Wednesday? Well, I checked the site today and she's not on there anymore! Now... this could mean she's in 'unavailable' for some reason... OR it could mean she found her furever home. I'll check when I'm there on Monday and report back!

In Other News...
Saturday is the San Diego Doggie Street Festival - a huge adoption event held here annually. This is the first year they are also having an author event, so I'll be there selling (I hope! I really don't wanna lug all these books back home!) and signing my books. Even if I don't sell any books, I'm sure it will be a fun event. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the adoption pups there! Last year they adopted out ~170 dogs!

I'll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!

Hope you have a great weekend. Happy Friday!
