Pups at the Park |
The theme this year is The Fab Fair, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the British Invasion.
Now you know we love to needle felt dogs, so we came up with two entries that are both pup- and Beatles-related!
First, we have Meet the Beagles!
Yes. It's a celebration of "the first album by England's phenomenal pup combo"!
Of course Rita had to photobomb the beagles. (She wanted to meet them! Luckily she wasn't interested in eating them.)
Now... for our second entry... what's more British than the queen's fave dog breed, the Pembroke Welsh corgi??
So, we give you: The Beatles walking their corgis across Abbey Road. (Confession.... I wanted to do Labby Road with 4 Labs, but we already had 2 corgis made. We made them as a gift for my brother-in-law's piano teacher, and he graciously let us borrow them back!)
Here's a close-up of one of the corgi pups:
A bit hard to see here, but the dogs are in step with each of the Beatles, so they all have their left legs forward, except for Paul's corgi, who has his right legs forward. Also Paul is holding the leash in this left hand, while the rest have the leashes in their right.
Of course Rita had to photobomb the corgis as well.
What do you guys think??
If you're interested in trying to felt your own pup, come back soon, because in the near future I'll be doing a How To post!
Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday!
Genius! Do you felt them with dog hair? Because I have some of that to spare!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I have that to spare around here too! But we just use wool. Although we could work a bit of the real thing in with it!
DeleteI love both, but I think the Abbey Road one is a winner, well it would have been a winner if it was Labby Road...but this is still pretty darn good.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know you are partial to those Labbys!
DeleteI respectfully disagree with SlimDoggy and declare the corgis the pawesomest!!! Meet the Beagles is funny too... but corgis!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThought you might like those corgis!
DeleteOh that is adorable! Love the corgis.
ReplyDeleteI smile every time I look at those corgis. The leashes crack me up.
DeleteOh you should definitely win a blue ribbon for those! I want to make a felt Bentley! I'm glad that you're going to post a how-to!
ReplyDeleteOooo, a Bentley would be pretty similar to a beagle. Hopefully our How To will help!
DeleteAbbey Road for us BOL BOL funny Rita photobombing the corgis. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I think Abbey Road will do better in the competition that MtB, but we'll see!
DeleteAbsolutely love both of these! Can't help but think you'll get the blue this year. Though Rudy and I do wish you could've done Labby Road :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to be SO bummed if we don't get a blue ribbon (or two...)
DeleteI can't choose. I think they are all amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHow COOL and LOVE it! You are going to WIN again. Happy BlogPaws WW. Golden Woofs
ReplyDeleteWe hope so! :)
DeleteLove them both. Have to vote for Meet the Beagles, just because that was my suggestion. It's going to be a tough one for the judges. Can't wait to do the dance of joy when we see the ribbons in the cabinet at the Fair!
ReplyDeleteIt was an excellent suggestion! And, yes, I hope we'll be doing the dance of joy again!
DeleteThat is a hit!!! A blue ribbon for sure again this year!
ReplyDeleteHope so - fingers and paws crossed!
DeleteBoth are Great!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'd like to say the best part is the fun we had making them... but let's face it. We wanna WIN!
DeleteFAB4-ulous. Wow, your creativity with these is off the charts. I can't imagine anyone being able to beatle these! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteHahahah! Love your comment! Very clever!
DeleteOh, Jackie, you might as well clear a space to show your awards because those are too clever and well crafted to have any competition. I'm getting inspired to try my hand at our county fair.
ReplyDeleteYes, you should totally enter! It's so fun! Don't know if your fair is the same, but here you get a free entry ticket for the fair when you enter the competition, which is nice, but the best part is that you get to enter through the "Vendor" entrance - where there's no line!
DeleteWow, those are great! I LOVE the corgis!
ReplyDeleteThanks! We think they're pretty darn cute, if we do say so ourselves!
DeleteYou are so wonderfully creative! :) I can't wait for your how to post, I'm excited to try making one of Niles!
ReplyDeleteWe think they're both totally awesome; but of course, we're going to be partial to Corgis in anything. We can't wait to see your blue ribbon this year!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I didn't know you make felt dogs! OMG these are AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThe corgis with the photos are amazingly awesome! You should definitely get an award for that creation and idea!
ReplyDeleteYou are way more talented and patient than our house is so we love to just look at what you do! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteThe little felt pups are very well done!
ReplyDeleteIt took me a moment to work out the "British Invasion" thing! Had to count back in years and still didn't get it, even with your title!! Doh! Anyway I thought we left you lot to fight it out between you in 1776!! ;)
ReplyDeletePS Definitely award winning I woulld say !
Those are fab and very clever!
ReplyDeleteThey're both great, but Abbey Road is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI love that Rita stuck her nose in. She probably couldn't believe that those little dogs were getting so much attention from you!
Those are so awesome!! They definitely both deserve the blue ribbons!
ReplyDeleteLove Rita's photobombs too....I think she had to give her stamp of approval.
