Wordless Wednesday: Old-Fashioned Tweets

Rita's not much for Twitter. She prefers her tweets to be the old-fashioned variety. (She actually prefers to try to catch birds, but seeing them on TV is the next best thing...)
"How did that bird get in here?"

"Oh, that one is so fat. And so close, I can almost taste it."
Can you ever have too many pictures of the dog watching TV? (After all, this is not the first time I've posted about how much she likes the "moment in nature" on CBS Sunday Morning.) I hope not. She watches it a lot, and we always find it adorable. Often, the hubs or I will smack the other one, then point at the dog. Then we watch the dog watching TV. Yep, that's what passes for excitement around these parts.

Look how almost wordless I was! Happy Wordless Wednesday!

  1. Indy was watching wolves on Nature the other day. She almost lunged at the TV.

    1. I keep forgetting to tune in to Nature. I'm sure Rita would love that show. We don't need that DogTV channel around here!

  2. We have to be careful what we leave on the TV, esp. if we leave the room. Jimmy will just about hurt himself flying across the room to yell at what's on the screen. Even cartoon animals hold his interest!

Wilson doesn't seem to know the TV even exists.....

    1. Rita watches cartoon animals too. She watched the dogs in UP! with me with great interest!

Funny how some dogs are riveted and others don't seem to notice at all.

  3. Too funny. We watched a show about wolves once, that got them thinking.

    1. I used to watch A.P. all the time. I'll have to give it a try again. (Their shows got a little weird/depressing for a while there...)

  8. I am embarrassed to admit that Dakota doesn't watch TV at all.....never has.

    1. I never had a dog watch it as much as Rita does. And it's funny because it's not just the noises the animals make - sometimes it will be an animal, but w/ no sounds. She just seems to like the nature sounds. Sometimes she'll even watch the humans on TV, but not nearly as much.

Funny how some dogs don't pay any attention to it. I'm sure your pets are brilliant! :)

  9. Buster LOVES the dogs on UP! And I swear he is the dog, Doug in that movie. That's even how I imagine his voice if he could talk.

  10. Sherman has a fascination with birds! He zones in on them so much when we are walking or going for a ride in the car!

  11. Cali barks at any dog on tv (including cartoon dogs!) and she knows all of the commercials better than us (she is growling and barking before we ever see a dog!). They are amazing aren't they?? :) We cannot watch movies with animals . . to much barking!

    1. That's so funny that she knows the commercials. Rita loves some of those Purina commercials with all the different dogs on them.

  12. We do the same thing. It is especially fun with a puppy in the house. Rosie likes to hear all the different voices on TV :-)

  13. Our dogs love to watch tv. When they hear another dog bark on tv they bark back. It's fun to watch. Just became one of your newest followers.

    1. Thanks for following!

Rita doesn't usually bark back. She just watches very intently. Like it's the most interesting show ever!

  14. That's too funny - my dog never watches TV. She will bark sometimes if she hears something she thinks might be a knock at the door though.

    1. Rita barks too if a doorbell goes off on TV. The other night on Modern Family, there were 4 different times that doorbells went off. Luckily by the 3rd time, she was over it!

  15. Hi Jackie,

I'm not big into watching TV, but there's a bird in a cage in one of the retirement homes and I could sit and watch him all day!

    Wags to all,

    Your pal Snoopy :)
