A Tale of Two Kitties. (Okay, Really, Cats. Sorta.)

Rita "met" two "cats" this past Sunday. Normally, she hates cats, which you may recall if you've been following the blog for ages, because there was the time we took her to visit my sis, and Rita went ape over not only the actual cat in the house, but also this stone cat looking down from a bookshelf.

Luckily, Rita did NOT go ape over these two.

First there was this big Maine Coon on our TV (who happens to be chef Bobby Flay's cat, Nacho). Rita was intrigued...

And then on our walk we met a really giant cat!

Okay, that was lame. Sorry.

But, hey, this was very un-wordy for me. I should get points for that!

We'll be away next week for a little early spring break! See you the following week!

  1. Have fun on Spring Break and hey, those are probably the only two cats Cassius could tolerate. He doesn't like them as well. I think Booker T is just indifferent toward them now that he is getting older.

    1. Oh, gosh, maybe Rita will become indifferent as she gets older!

    1. Rita seems to think they are lurking everywhere - especially the neighbor's cat who has the nerve to come in our yard!

  3. Rita is being a little judgmental of your wordplay, isn't she? Your words do buy her kibble.

    1. She is super judge-y. It's not easy living with her and getting those disdainful looks on the regular.

  4. We watched Bobby Flay's story on Sunday Morning too. Pierre perked up when it came on too. Enjoy your spring break ☺

    1. It was cute, that Bobby Flay story - if Rita didn't hate cats so much, it would have made me want to go out and get a Maine Coon!

  5. It amused our Lady (maybe she is lame too lol!)

  6. Jess: Wasn't expecting the really giant "cat" to be that kind!

Mini: The cat that hangs around here (not sure who invited him) used to pounce us all the time, so we don't really like him. We all gang up on him from time to time and give him a good barking for ;)

    1. A good barking for is necesarry sometimes with these pouncy cats! (Rita tried to give our neighbor cat a good barking for once when he came in our yard, but then he turned back and hissed at her, and man, you shoulda heard our little drama queen SCREAM! It echoed down the canyon.... So embarrassing.)

    1. Yeah, I pretty much go through life that way, so don't really know any other way. :)

  8. I have to say, that stone kitty looks totally real! And ready to pounce. I can't blame Rita for going a little ape over it, LOL!!

  9. LOL....your Mama knows how to make us laugh, Rita! Luke would have gone nuts over that cat on the TV...but he's getting used to the other kind of CAT since we've been having trees cut in our yard!
    Enjoy your spring break!

    1. Yeah, Reggie would have gone nuts of the TV kitty too. Rita just likes to watch them when they're on TV - luckily!

    1. Thanks! Just a few days away, but it will be nice to get away from the never-ending kitchen remodel. :)

    1. Yeah... the hubs's job is pretty stressful, so a while ago he said he wants us to try to take time off at least one week/quarter, so, hey, I'm not going to argue with that. :) We're not going far, and only for a couple of days - mostly a "staycation" - but it will be nice.

  13. I love it when the dogs watch television! Liam the pug used to do that a lot. He especially loved to see big horses on television. In real life? Not so much. Barking ensued.

    1. Oh, that's funny. Rita doesn't pay that much attention to horses on TV. She mostly likes cats (of all sizes), birds, squirrels, and dogs/wolves. She'll even watch if they're cartoon animals.

  14. LOL! Glad Rita did OK with her new "cat" friends. Ruby actually loves cats more than other dogs.
