It's showing up in our yard, where our ice plant is very happy after all the rain we've had.
And signs of it were everywhere on our short little vacation last week in Ojai (a cute little town in Central CA). We saw lots of pretty flowers on our hike and around the place where we stayed.
The orange trees were going crazy!
We even found a swimming hole on our hike! (And made some furry friends along the way! That little white dog in the lower left corner pic was so funny - she ran up to us like we were her long lost friends! And of course that beagle was not about to go in swimming - even if his owner went in. So cute!)
In other signs... Do you guys have these signs in your 'hoods?
We have them all over the place here, and folks don't really seem to pay much attention to them, since I still see people speeding and talking/texting on their phones All. The. Time.
But... recently I saw this new sign:
Maybe this one will get folks to pay more attention??😃
Has spring sprung where you are?
Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Stop by their site to check out all of the other blogs in the hop.
Love that second orange flower and the pets sign. It's always about the kids, but the pets should be included as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, here's for including the fur kids too! :)
DeleteNothing but a policeman holding a radar guns slows people in my area. Cynical but true.
ReplyDeleteTruthfully it's the same in our 'hood.
DeleteGreat flowers and I love all the colors that come along with Spring. I like the pets sign...about time they get equal billing IMO. In our neighborhood, people never slow down but there are a few kids that run wild as well so I think it's equal parts driver/parent concerns. Glad you had a nice vacation and it's nice that you make doggy friends wherever you go.
ReplyDeleteWe don't really have too many kids running wild here, but some of our streets have no sidewalks, and they're really windy, so a lot of blind corners. People DO need to slow down - but even if they do, they're just slowing to look at their phones usually.....
Deletei am soooo jealous its still snowing here!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be nice if you could get, like, 1 month of winter, then one of spring, then 1 of winter again - so you wouldn't have so much of the snow all in one, long slog??
DeleteBeautiful flowers. Those are both good signs, sadly people tend to ignore stuff like that after a while.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's crazy the number of folks I see driving while on their phones. Ridiculous.
DeleteSo funny, my Wordless Wednesday has the same theme! Sadly here on the east coast we are further behind with blooming than you are.....gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteWe are seeing a few signs of spring here! we are ready

I'm sure when you deal with snowy winters, spring must be SO welcome!
DeleteWe've seen those signs in Reedville, VA. My cynical husband said they made him just want to speed up. Luckily he was walking at the time. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, being cynical myself, I may have said the same the first time I walked Rita past one of them. :)
DeleteSpring started in February when the almond trees bloom, but this is the wettest spring I can remember. No complaints.
ReplyDeleteSame here - lots of rain here and I'm loving it. (Although we haven't had as much as some places!)
DeleteWe're expecting a big snowstorm here tomorrow. Thank you for giving us a little taste of Spring and sunshine! We needed it! <3
ReplyDeleteHere's to melting snow and spring flowers in your future!
DeleteWe're glad the pets got equal time with the signs! Those flowers are beautiful....we are still waiting for spring here. We thought it was coming, but then winter came back. I am so ready for it now!
ReplyDeleteThat's not nice when it pretends to leave and then comes back!
DeleteWhat beautiful spring photos! It's definitely spring in Oregon. My flowers are going crazy, and I love it.

I know there's a "super bloom" in the desert right now, but we walk around our 'hood pointing out little mini "super blooms" everywhere. :)
DeleteOur hyacinth bulbs have bloomed but the ice plant and California poppies haven't yet. Spring is a colorful time of year.
ReplyDeleteI love CA poppies. I planted some in our front yard but they died out during the ridiculously hot winter we had last year and didn't make it back. Guess I'll have to plant some more.
DeleteYes, spring has been around here for a few weeks already. The wild dewberries have been blooming like crazy and now we have lots of green berries ripening up; saw the first red one today! Once they turn black, things are going to get yummy :D I think those are some awesome signs and it'd be awesome if everyone would obey them!
ReplyDeletethose first two photos are beautiful, I love orange flowers.
ReplyDeletehello pooch smooches its dennis the vizsla dog hay i think that pets sine wood wurk better on my dada then the kids sine!!! it definitly got his attenshun in the pikcher!!! hay also my dada went to see the sooper bloom in the desert a fyoo weeks ago and i gess it wuz nice and all but he sez mostly wot wuz blooming in anza borrego wuz traffik!!! ha ha ok bye
ReplyDeleteWe do have that "drive like your kids live here" signs, but it seems to have done little to stem the speeders. Now maybe I should try to hunt down that "drive like your pet lives here" sign. Everyone has a pet and would probably slow down for that! Your spring flowers are exquisite. I heard a story yesterday on NPR about how fabulous the wildflowers are in California after the 6 year drought. Congrats on the snow pack being 164% above normal.
