New Dog Picture Books for the Collection

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a nice holiday season. Ours was lovely with too much food but lots of long walks (and a few runs) to try to counteract all the calories. Now it's back to the ol' routine...

I thought I'd share a couple of fun dog picture books we got for Christmas. We have a lot of dog books, but there's always room for more, right?

First of all, thanks to Jan at The Poodle (and Dog) Blog for mentioning Zen Dogs by Alex Cearns before Christmas. I got a copy for the hubs for one of his presents.
LOVE the cover!

This is a really sweet book full of pics of dogs with their eyes shut, and some pages have accompanying quotes. It really does make you relax when you look through it. It'll be sitting on our living room coffee table, handy for flipping through when we're feeling stressed.

The other book, which the hubs got for me, is Nice Nosing You: For the love of life, dogs, and photography by Elke Vogelsang. I haven't read it yet, but have flipped through to look at some of the pics and they're really wonderful.
Her dogs are the cutest!

The book is filled with pictures of the author's dogs and inspiring quotes - it's based on photos she took to cheer up her husband while he was sick and recovering in the hospital. I'm looking forward to going through it, and it will also have a special place on the coffee table.

If you need a nice present for a dog lover, or for yourself!, I don't think you can go wrong with either of these!

Did you get anything dog-related for Christmas?

Note: nobody asked me to review these books and I'm not an Amazon affiliate. But when I get good doggy stuff that I enjoy, I like to share it!

Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Stop by their site to check out all of the other blogs in the hop.

  2. We love picture books. Mom isn't big on reading (except for blog posts), never has been, but loves photo books.

  3. Both books look and sounds great so I'm going to have to check them out. I'm always grabbing books like these that feature dogs when shopping Book Outlet. You can never have too many dog books. I didn't really get any new dog stuff for Christmas but we did get a new camera so as soon as I learn how to work it (haha) hopefully I'll have more pics to show!

    1. They are really cute. Probably "coffee table books" don't go well with RV-living though. :)

  8. I got everyone gift cards, but they were tucked like bookmarks in a review copy of one of the books I received. They loved the books as much as the gift cards.
