Here he is demonstrating two techniques at once - the "strand" and the "bubble." Impressive.
Good job, Leo! (Photo credit: my bro) |
See what I mean?
Wait, are you not seeing what I'm seeing?? It's right there!
No, there:
We went through at least 1/6 of a napkin cleaning that up!
How about your pups? Are they more like Leo or dainty-droolers like Rita?
Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Stop by their site to check out all of the other blogs in the hop.
That made me snort with laughter! I always have a drool rag for Bentley. He is a big league drooler.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, I imagine Bassetts would be. We had a beagle who could drool pretty good when we ate something yummy, but other than that she was a very dainty eater/drinker.
DeleteWhile my guys never form bubbles or strings, they create whole LAKES of drool on the floor under their mouths!!! Very disgusting for bare feet as well as a slip hazard at times! Corgis are big droolers!
ReplyDeleteCorgis are also a tripping hazard (according to the Queen's people...), so boy... add slipping hazard to that and I think a klutz like me should probably never get a corgi!
DeleteLOL! But you have Reggie ;-)
DeleteHaha. Yes, but only once in a while. And I step carefully when he's here! :)
DeleteMadison and I don't ever drool, Bailie drools sometimes when she is waiting for some tasty food. There is a Newf in Bailie's nose work class whose mom carries a towel for all the drool.
ReplyDeleteNewfs are definitely legendary for their drooling!
DeleteSo funny. My Arliss and Lily only drool over their toys and ropes. They get them pretty soggy.
ReplyDeleteOh, that always kinda grosses me out when there's a dog at the shelter that gets his/her toys all soggy. Luckily Rita has a "dry" mouth. Her toys don't get soggy.
DeleteYes, it grosses me out, too!
Delete:)
DeleteProbably somewhere in between. Except when I clean house, I'm always amazed at where I find dog slobber. I know it sounds gross, but I've even asked my husband if the pups play on ladders or have gained some Spider-Man capabilities because there is no other justification for why slobber is that high!
ReplyDeleteHahaha. That's pretty funny. Lot of shaking/head flinging I guess??
DeleteI couldn't do a drooling dog, uh, uh, no way. If I am in the treat cupboard, Torrey will sometimes a drool a tiny drool waiting for a treat. And that's enough drool for me.
ReplyDeleteOur beagle was the drooliest dog we ever had - but only if we were eating something really good. It's nice to have a dog with a dry mouth. :)
DeleteRuby is not a drooler ...but we don't eat steak so maybe she is and we don't know it!
ReplyDeleteShe could have mad drooling skills and you'd never know. :)
DeleteWe used to have a Bouvier that drooled like Leo! EEK!
ReplyDeleteOh, Bouviers - there's a breed I didn't think of as droolers. I was thinking of newfs and St. Bernard's and of course mastiffs. :)
DeleteOnce in a while we drool - not often though
ReplyDeletehugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
Yeah, Rita only does it once in a while too.
DeleteMine do the Leo drool!
ReplyDeleteLucky! :)
DeleteI saw it before you even pointed it out!! Our two girls rarely drool, but Luke can do it almost as well as Leo sometimes! I'm not sure he's ever done a bubble though; he'll have to work on that (or not...I'm not really a fan of heavily drooling dogs...LOL).
ReplyDeleteIf you ever change your mine about that, and want Luke to learn from a master, I could see about getting Leo to put up some "how to bubble" videos on YouTube.
DeleteHappy to oblige. :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Blueberry has me well trained and when we are in the car, at a certain couple of lights that turn red, she gets a treat. So I slip it to her in the back seat whilst I am facing forward so I don't see the drool, but boy howdy, I FEEL it in my palm. Which I then wipe on my jeans. To give you an idea how well trained I am, I automatically reach into my pocket for a treat at those two lights even when she isn't in the car with me.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. My brother says drool is "viscous love" so, hey, nothing wrong with getting a little of that on your hand. :)
DeleteDefinitely need to be tolerant of slobber when you have a mastiff. And Leo is quite the talented drooler. Rita's little bubble is cute.
ReplyDeleteLeo is definitely level: expert.
DeleteOur Labs are not dainty if they think that they may be about to get food! Funny post!
ReplyDeleteRita isn't dainty when it comes to actually eating/drinking - she makes a big mess all around her food/water bowl, but she's a dainty drooler. (Complete opposite of our angel beagle, who was a drooler, but a very dainty eater/drinker.)
DeleteHaving had 2 OES's for over 10 years, I'm all too familiar with drooling. After they crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I have to admit, I didn't miss having to mop floors every other day from the drool bombs. The Standards aren't very drool worthy, they have other challenging habits to rival that particular trait (i.e. severe nose nudging for attention for one). LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, man - I bet OES's can crank out some serious drool! Funny about the nose-nudging. Rita is a nose-nudged too, but she's judicious about when she pulls out that tactic.
DeleteLeo is super cute
ReplyDeleteIsn't he the best?!
DeleteHaha ha!!! Wow that is some big time drool - no not you Rita, your mastiff friend! Toby is a dainty drooler like Rita. Very thankful for that by the way ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's nice. And that's great for a big pooch like Toby is.
Deletehello rita its dennis the vizsla dog hay that is sum pritty dainty drool their!!! i hav sum sort of repyootayshun for beeing eksepshunally jowly for a vizsla and roomer has it i jenerayt suds frum time to time but it is just skurrilus falshuds if yoo ask me!!! ok bye
ReplyDeleteSuds. Nice. But, hey, if you say that's fake news, I believe you!
DeleteNot much drooling here. The ACD that started it all (Cairo) used to drool but only when she was tired. No food required!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's interesting. I never heard of a dog drooling when they're tired. That reminds me... my bro's neighbor had a great Dane who had dry eye troubles, so they had to reroute his drool ducts up to his eyes - so when they ate steak, he would cry. :)
