Wordless Wednesday: Workin' It

Rita is really good at looking like she hasn't eaten in three days when you are smacking out on something she wants a bite of. (Note how she sucks in her cheeks.)

Where do they learn this look?

We usually say she's channeling her angel sister, Bailey the beagle, who was excellent at looking emaciated when she would beg.

Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Thank you for letting me be wordy! You can check out all the blogs in the hop here.

  1. I'm not sure where the look comes from but they certainly have PAWfected it haven't they? Don't worry, you're not the only one who gives in. LOL

  2. Awww, better feed the poor girl. ;)
Blueberry stares at me too but she looks more like she is ready to knock me down.

    1. I would be a terrible owner for Blueberry. I'd give her whatever she wanted! That look would totally work on me!

  3. Finely honed survival skills! It took thousands of years of genetics to get that look just right!

    1. Yep, that's what I think - a finely honed look over 1000s of years!

  5. Mine generally don't look forlorn, just intent. "You WILL give me a bit of what you're eating human."

  6. That's a great trick. I will have to try sucking in my cheeks to get more snacks!

    1. The sucking the cheeks in works, I think. Works on us any way! :)

  7. Now that's some skill. Booker T usually just pesters us until we give in. Seriously, he can bother us for an hour in hopes of getting a snack. He will put his head on your leg and enter a stare-off. An yes, he usually wins.

    1. The head on the leg gets me every time. Rita has not learned to "use" that move yet. Thank heaven!

  8. My dogs give me that look too, but they haven't learned the suck cheek thing yet. They do have SPCA on speed dial though.

  10. Clearly it is instinctive because Scout already does it! But she's so skinny it isn't hard for her to look emaciated.

    1. Rita's pretty picky. She mostly only begs if we are eating meat or cheese. If we became vegan, she'd probably never beg again!

  13. Oz is great at the "I'm starving" eyes. As if he doesn't eat better than I do.

  14. Lol, sweet pup. She looks so skinny she better have 2!! Cocoa did not used to be food motivated but I have noticed in the last few weeks she wants more. Probably because it has been so cold and snowy. We have had negative temperatures and 2 feet of snow!!

    1. Negative temps? Well, Rita doesn't have the winter weather to blame a need for more calories on. It's been hot in So Cal!

  15. LOL that's Kilos look too. As if he's starving...

  16. We just beg period too much work to do otherwise, but nice look there Rita, very effective I'm sure! Love Dolly
