Where do they learn this look?
We usually say she's channeling her angel sister, Bailey the beagle, who was excellent at looking emaciated when she would beg.
Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Thank you for letting me be wordy! You can check out all the blogs in the hop here.
I'm not sure where the look comes from but they certainly have PAWfected it haven't they? Don't worry, you're not the only one who gives in. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, good - glad we're not the only ones! :)
DeleteAwww, better feed the poor girl. ;)
ReplyDeleteBlueberry stares at me too but she looks more like she is ready to knock me down.
I would be a terrible owner for Blueberry. I'd give her whatever she wanted! That look would totally work on me!
DeleteFinely honed survival skills! It took thousands of years of genetics to get that look just right!
ReplyDeleteYep, that's what I think - a finely honed look over 1000s of years!
DeleteWe are starving! Imagine if you couldn't control your own food supply ;)
ReplyDeleteI must admit, Emma - sometimes I wish someoone would control my intake! :)
DeleteMine generally don't look forlorn, just intent. "You WILL give me a bit of what you're eating human."
ReplyDeleteThey're Jedi masters!
DeleteThat's a great trick. I will have to try sucking in my cheeks to get more snacks!
ReplyDeleteThe sucking the cheeks in works, I think. Works on us any way! :)
DeleteNow that's some skill. Booker T usually just pesters us until we give in. Seriously, he can bother us for an hour in hopes of getting a snack. He will put his head on your leg and enter a stare-off. An yes, he usually wins.
ReplyDeleteThe head on the leg gets me every time. Rita has not learned to "use" that move yet. Thank heaven!
DeleteMy dogs give me that look too, but they haven't learned the suck cheek thing yet. They do have SPCA on speed dial though.
ReplyDeletelol. Yes, she thinks we are abusing her all the time too.
DeleteLOL...How can you resist that look?
ReplyDeleteWe can't!
DeleteClearly it is instinctive because Scout already does it! But she's so skinny it isn't hard for her to look emaciated.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she just kinda walks around looking like someone should feed her a cheeseburger.
DeleteBOL, looks like she is giving you the "Puppy Eyes!"
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for it!
DeleteMy dogs are always hankering after food!
ReplyDeleteRita's pretty picky. She mostly only begs if we are eating meat or cheese. If we became vegan, she'd probably never beg again!
DeleteOz is great at the "I'm starving" eyes. As if he doesn't eat better than I do.
ReplyDeleteHe might have a different definition of "better". :)
DeleteLol, sweet pup. She looks so skinny she better have 2!! Cocoa did not used to be food motivated but I have noticed in the last few weeks she wants more. Probably because it has been so cold and snowy. We have had negative temperatures and 2 feet of snow!!
ReplyDeleteNegative temps? Well, Rita doesn't have the winter weather to blame a need for more calories on. It's been hot in So Cal!
DeleteLOL that's Kilos look too. As if he's starving...
ReplyDelete"I haven't eaten in days!"
DeleteWe just beg period too much work to do otherwise, but nice look there Rita, very effective I'm sure! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteRita suggests trying it. She thinks it's a sure-fire bet.
DeleteLOL! She's so cute! Phoenix and Zoe are both really good at that routine, too!!
ReplyDeleteAnd they're both so skinny they can also really pull off that "I haven't eaten in days" look!
DeleteYou would think that Mabel was starving to death, she goes nuts when she wants fed!
ReplyDeletehugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
She's so cute - I'd give in to her every time!
Deletemust learn it in puppy school
ReplyDeleteCould be - or just instinct!
Deletethat expression IS hilarious!
ReplyDeleteDakotasDen
It does make us laugh when she sucks her cheeks in!
DeleteMy Keira is always hungry but your photo is the BEST! Nailed the starving look!
ReplyDeleteShe has nailed it. :)
DeleteDoes looking hungry get her more treats?
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it really gets her "more" - but it definitely gets her plenty!
DeletePlease feed Rita...she's obviously starving. [wink] What a great thespian performance, that's definitely Oscar worry. ღ
ReplyDeleteYes, she deserves a gold statue for sure.
DeleteShe's making herself look skinny!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should try it. :)
DeleteShe does have very defined cheekbones in that picture!
ReplyDeleteShe's workin' it!
DeleteVery good look much practiced by canines to ensure we get what we want. WOOF!
ReplyDeleteYes - "much practiced" is right!
DeleteGood god get that dog a bone, lol cute photo
ReplyDeleteOh, she got some for sure. She knows how to work us.
DeleteThis is too funny. I'll have to watch my dogs more closely to see if they do that! Cricket always perks her ears forward to look her cutest and that gets me every time!
ReplyDeleteBeagles are jedi master beggars so I'd be surprised if she's not also doing the sucked-in-cheeks thing along with the perked up ears.
DeleteAw, give that sweet girl a bite! :-)
ReplyDeleteShe got her share!
DeleteI think that look is in their genes! Adorable photo!
ReplyDeleteLove & biscuits
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
