Marie, I mean, Annie - in the furry flesh! |
Annie's mom & dad (and Annie's uncle, aunt, and furry cousin) were all here in town so I got to meet both the adorable Annie...
...and her gorgeous cousin, Jolie, the French poodle.
They were both so cute and so soft and so sweet!
In the novel, Marie is very well trained and never gets into any trouble. Annie, in real life, is... let's just say she's a bit more free-spirited. She isn't named after Annie Oakley fur nuthin'! In fact, when Annie's dad was asked if he thought her personality is "more poodle or more Labrador," he answered, "More Oakley!"
It was a great thrill to meet both these girls! Hope we meet again soon!

In Other News...
If you haven't read my second novel, Rescue Me, Maybe, yet, I wanted to let you know the Kindle version is on sale right now for half price, so it's only $1.99.
Finally, since I don't want Rita to be jealous about not being on the blog today, I thought I'd share this pic that I put up on my Facebook page this weekend.
These were the only broncos Rita was interested in on Sunday:
How about you? Did you watch the big game? If so, didn't you just love the Heinz commercial?! (Personally, I thought it was the best moment of the whole thing...)
Siriusly, if you missed the Heinz commercial, go watch it right now. You'll thank me after.
Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Thank you for letting me be wordy! You can check out all the blogs in the hop here.
We watched the puppy bowl on Sunday, and then went to the park and the collies enacted their own version of the Super Bowl! Lol
ReplyDeleteWe managed to have a major brain lapse and forget about the Puppy Bowl! Nooooo!
DeleteVery nice meet - love it! I did watch the Superbowl... sadly, no one shared their half time food with me, so not such a happy time for me!
ReplyDeleteWOOF WOOF!
How rude!
DeleteThat's fun that you were able to meet Annie in the fur! Sadly, we missed both the puppy bowl and the super bowl and the half time snacks!
ReplyDeleteOh, you missed out on a lot!
DeleteNow that the superbowl ads are available days ahead of time on YouTube, who needs to watch the game ;-) LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's true. Last year I think I'd seen them all ahead of time, so the game was extra boring. I purposely avoided seeing most of them before the game this year so I'd have something to watch!
DeleteI had a migraine and slept through the whole game, commercials and all. No matter, MY favorite February sporting event starts on Monday -- the Westminster Dog Show!
ReplyDeleteOh, major bummer about the migraine!
DeleteHow strange to have a photo on your book without ever even meeting the dog. Glad you have now met her!
ReplyDeleteOH, she's not the dog on the cover though. I don't know who that dog is!
DeleteHow nice to meet your inspiration in the fur! Annie is adorable...but don't let Rita hear me say that! Rita, of course, is more adorable.
ReplyDeleteThey're each adorable in their own way!
DeleteI also love the Heinz commercial and the one where the dogs are trying to get into the grocery store to but Doritos. I watched the Puppy Bowl some and it's a good thing as there weren't many dog commercials this year.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to meet Annie and I think Cassius is in love! They could get into all kinds of trouble together it seems!
The Doritos one with the dogs was pretty cute! And, yes, Cassius would love to meet Annie! She's pretty special!
DeleteHow nice that you got to meet Annie and Jolie! That second picture of Annie captures the personality in the book, lol!
ReplyDeleteThe game was great. Congrats to Manning and the Broncos!
We were rooting for the Panthers.... :(
DeleteThose doggies were so cute. And crazy when they were first busted out of their cages. It was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI watched none of the Super Bowl so I missed the Heinz commercial, which I just watched. So cute.
That was really funny. Never should have yelled "release the hounds!"
DeleteAnnie is adorable and Jolie is gorgeous! What fun that you got to meet them in the fur. No football fans here, but we did catch the commercials on YouTube. The mob of Doxies was my hands down favorite and I refuse to reveal how many times I've watched that one :-)
ReplyDeleteHahaha. I might have watched it, um, a time or two as well.
DeleteAnnie is adorable! I thought the half time show and the commercials were more entertaining than the game LOL
ReplyDeleteWe didnt' even watch half time. Not into any of those performers. We just fastforwarded that part! :)
DeleteSuper Bowl Sunday is my family's favorite holiday of the year so we watch all the pre-game hype and post-game celebration. We loved the Dachshund Stampede and the Frito dog commercial, but advertisers seem to have learned that putting a dog into a commercial doesn't automatically make it a good commercial. Remember the puppy mill commercial from last year that Go daddy decided not to air?
ReplyDeleteI do remember that. And how about that creepy 1/3-puppy commercial with the puppy-monkey-baby. Eeesh.
DeleteAnnie is gorgeous!!! How wonderful you finally get to meet her!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was really fun.
DeleteSo nice that you got to meet Annie! And yes, Heinz was our favorite ad by far, of course. Except we don't put catsup on hot dogs in Chicago no matter what they want you to believe. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteOh, really?? Gosh, I love catsup on a hotdog!
DeleteSweet dogs! Yes we loved the Heinz commercial! but the puppymonkeybaby creeped us out
ReplyDeletehugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
That creeped us out too! Such a stupid commercial. It made no sense either - it was supposed to be 3 "awesome" things in one - but why would 20-something boys think a baby was an awesome thing?? Creepy and stupid.
Deletelove me a poodle! I didn't watch the game but liked the dorito goat on youtube. LeeAnna and cole
ReplyDeleteI missed that one. I see I have some googling to do.
Deletethat is so cool that you got to meet both woofies!! Sooo cool! Loved the dachshund commercial for sure........HATED the outcome of the game :)
ReplyDeleteDakotasDen
Yep, we hated it too! :)
DeleteHow cool that you met Annie! Always fun to meet someone you've previously only known through photographs.
ReplyDeleteLove the hot dogs in the commercial. The slow motion made it extra special!
Yeah, the slo-mo was too cute!
DeleteYour book is sitting on my end table waiting to be read! So it's nice to have a face to put to it lol.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope you'll like it! But yes, now you can picture Annie every time Marie is in a scene. :)
DeleteOh wow, thanks so much for the link to the commercial. As our team was not in the Superbowl (thanks a lot Broncos) we did not get to see this commercial. That was definitely worth watching. I'll definitely have to check out your book. My kindle if full of books to be read but I do have a file of MUST READS. I also found that I was not following you I twitter. That is now fixed, so I look forward to your tweets. Hope to see you at a twitter chat soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Oh, I hear you. My Kindle is so full of books too! Thanks for the Twitter follow. Will follow back.
DeleteThose dogs are adorable! I'll have to watch the commercial on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have to check out the commercial. It's sweet and funny at the same time.
DeleteSo cool to meet these sweet pups. We watched the big game. I am not a big football fan but since its the Super Bowl. The Heinz commercial was probably the best one. They needed more dog commercials. The sheep one was cute.
ReplyDeleteThey DID need more dog commercials! What were they thinking, having so few??
DeleteI love Annie, I mean Marie, hee, hee. She's adorable. I missed most of the Super Bowl but did catch the sheep commercial, which was hilarious and wonderful. P.S. Just bought "Rescue Me, Maybe." Cannot wait to read.
ReplyDeleteThe sheep commercial was cute. Yah! Thanks for the purchase. Hope you enjoy it!
DeleteAnnie is lovely but those lab genes do bring the mischief ;) haha the wiener dogs were way better than the half time show or the football game (although I do live Bruno mars). I was rooting for Payton so the outcome made me happy. Toby could care less just like Rita.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Labs can definitely be mischief makers! That's partly why I had Kona be a Lab in What the Dog Ate! :)
Deleteannie is adorable, how nice you finally got to meet her.
ReplyDeleteIt was really nice. I just wish it had been for a nicer reason... they were in town for a memorial party for a good friend. :(
DeleteAnnie is very cute. We did not watch the game here. I guess we were some of the only ones who did not....lol.
ReplyDeleteThey are both so adorable! We didn't watch the game, we're not really into football. But we had seen that commercial online beforehand and loved it!
ReplyDeletehello pooch smooches its dennis the vizsla dog hay annie is verry pritty!!! and with that kowboy hat she luks like she mite be annie oakley rite??? ok bye
ReplyDeleteAs a card-carrying member of Bronco nation, yes, we watched...I mean worried...then celebrated. Your friend Jolie looks like a close cousin to Sam! Love Annie's doodle nose. Both are too sweet, just like Rita! ღ
