See Beautiful: Beauty's All Around on a Hike

Belated Happy New Year!

I must admit - I've lost my blogging mojo (hopefully I'll find it since I'm in the middle of a big spring-cleaning binge), but I promised last month when I shared our Sedona/javelina adventures that I'd share some of the other pics I took if I remembered the See Beautiful hop.

And I actually remembered!

It's hard not to "see beautiful" when you're out on a hike with this scenery:

But I thought I'd share some of the other beauty on the trail - all the different trees and plants.

There were so many colors in the various trees' bark, it was really cool.

This pine cone almost looked like a flower to me.

I love the little curly-cues on this cactus.

And I'm likin' the color of this lichen. (Really, I love it but I had to make a bad pun.)

But, of course, the most beautiful thing we saw that day on the trail was little Miss Rita:

Not get out there and see beautiful!

Thanks to Sugar the Golden Retriever for hosting the This Moment - See Beautiful hop!

  6. The scenery makes a great background for the beautiful Rita. Hope you get your blogging mojo back soon. I've lost so many blogging buddies who just got burned out and went to the dark side (Faacebook) :-)

    1. Ugh. Facebook. I've totally lost my social media mojo too. Keep fantasizing about deleting my Twitter and Facebook accounts....

  7. Gorgeous pics! I heard most hiking areas are closed to dogs in Sedona which is why I have never tried to go. What's the point if I can't hike with B? I will have to do more research.

Deactivated my FB account last year. Best thing I ever did. Don't miss it at all - nice to be away from the drama and inappropriate emoting all over FB by other Fbookers. I only reactivated a short time when I had to try and find the Christmas intruder's owners (read: lost dog) so it did serve its purpose. Then I deactivated it again.

    1. I never saw any "no dogs" signs while we were in Sedona. The pics from this hike was called Soldier's Pass. There were poop bags at the start, so they obviously welcomed dogs. We also did... um... forget the name - think it was Coffee Pot (or Teacup?) Trail and Bell Rock trails - again, there were poop bags at the start so I'm pretty sure dogs are okay on a lot of the hikes. You and B should go!

I'm so jealous you got rid of your Fbk account. I feel like (at least for now) I have to keep it for my author page. I must say though, I have had a couple of good things happen because of Fbk. Like, when we were looking for an assisted living place for my mom, we were overwhelmed, so I asked my local friends on there for advice, and it ended up being SUPER helpful. (although, sadly, not needed in the end since my mom passed away before we even got her moved...) So, I'm just trying to go on there less. Especially with it being an election year. Ugh!

  20. It's pretty normal to lose your mojo for everything in winter, though I suspect in southern California, winter isn't quite what it is in other parts MOL We hope you find it soon! Perhaps it's just the post-publication blues!! Rita is the star of the above wondrous collection! xx

  21. How beautiful! Especially that paper bark.

I always miss it when my favorite bloggers go on a hiatus or hit a dry patch. But I can hardly argue with anyone who wants to enjoy outdoors with their dog instead of sitting in front of a computer. :)
