On one hike, we saw three javelina, which, according to Wikipedia, are also called peccaries or "skunk pigs". They were super cute, and Rita was pretty excited about the bit of piggy mischief!
Sorry these pig pics aren't great. The day we saw them, I only had my phone with me, not my good camera. The hike was so beautiful, we went back again the next day with my Nikon, but the javelina were hiding that day. (Mischievous hiding pigs!)

In other news, Rita's paws, which are normally white-socked...
|Rita's usually white toes|
|Yep, those are the same paws pictured above|
She did not enjoy getting her feet cleaned off with baby wipes each day when we got back to our rental house. Poor, mistreated pup.
She was exhausted after our hikes each day!
It was so pretty there!
I'll share some more pics on Wordless Wednesday, and, if I remember for a change, on the next See Beautiful hop.
P.S. Thank you all for all the nice condolences messages about my mom. You guys are the best.
