There's a sweet one...
...and a mean, er, intense one.
The sweet one sticks her head through the fence and whines until we come say hi.
Meanwhile, the intense one STARES.
Rita starts whining too, wanting to go over and say hi to the sweet one like Daddy is doing.
But once Rita and I go over, we only manage a quick hello before the intense one runs over and starts trash-talking us. And of course Rita has to trash-talk back. And then we have to bid the sweet one a fond farewell.
See you next time, Sweet One! And we know you'll see us next time, Intense One.
Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Thank you for letting me be wordy! You can check out all the blogs in the hop here.
I haven't met any mean BCs, many intense ones, but never mean. In agility you see gobs of them but maybe they are too focused on the game to be grumpy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I imagine all they care about is the game. They are focused!
DeleteThat's pretty cute. Maybe the intense one has trouble expressing emotions in a nice way. LOL
ReplyDeleteLol. Yes, that must be it. Hopefully the Sweet One will show him the way eventually!
DeleteBOL, this is cute, thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteBOL. Border Collies - I love them. You know Jeffie was part Border Collie and he could be very intense. Talkative, too :-)
ReplyDeleteI love talkative dogs! We miss you, sweet Jeffie!
DeleteHow adorable. We have a yard with a pit bull mix and 2 Jack Russells which we pass when when we walk. Jack, the mix, always hides behind the tree and jumps out of us (but the tree is more like a twig so it's no real surprise). The other 2 run up and down the fence line and we couldn't stop them to pet them if we tried. Love the Sweet One.
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny about him "hiding" behind the twiggy tree. "Surprise!"
Deletethey are lovely dogs but much to intense for me
ReplyDeleteYeah, only folks who want a dog that needs a job should probably get a border collie. I love to watch them work, but I'd never want to have a border collie. I'm too lazy for them! :)
DeleteOh, it's too bad both aren't sweet so you and Rita could have an extended hello. But, I guess there is one in every crowd...er, pair. BOL
ReplyDeleteVery cute ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteNo they weren't doing the dozens (talking bout they mommas!) Too funny!
ReplyDelete"Your father smelled of elderberries"...BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
ReplyDeleteI could never own a border collie...although technically, B is half cattle dog, half BC according to the rescue. Maybe two intense dogs mixed together make for a mellow specimen? Blueberry can be intense - but not herding dog intense.
P.S. I just realized that you did NOT vote that you thought I put treats up my nose. (Yes, sometimes I go back and reread my own posts and the comments there when they are especially enjoyable.) I thank you for not believing I could stoop that low, even though, I did. ;)
I like the "intense" (good word to describe him!) one. He is just doing his job whereas the other one is a slacker :)
ReplyDeleteDakotasDen
Cute post, sorry the intense one has to ruin the moment.
ReplyDeletewow, you take more of a risk than I do with Cole. He hasn't really liked Border collies since puppy school where they stared at him all the time. Now if a dog stares too much he has a holy fit. There is always a nice on and a starer so that the nice one can't get petted.
ReplyDeleteBorder Collies and be intense - glad the one is nice and sweet!

This is awesome. Cocoa talks to all the dogs and I am thinking she is the intense one!!
ReplyDeleteHee, hee. Sam always looks at intense pups like, 'dude...what is your problem?' then proceeds to skip down the road for the next encounter. Sam is kind of dim - BOL. ღ
ReplyDeleteMr. N thinks it's super unfair that other dogs can trash talk but he's not allowed to respond back!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the intense one needs a stick to chase while you visit with the sweet one.
ReplyDeleteLOL polar opposites.
ReplyDeleteHaha that is so funny and true! My nemesis is a Greyhound named Jackson he is huge and barks at us running along the fence, then Taffy has to get all snarky right back at him! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteHow funny. I guess they have a good system down for their own yard.
ReplyDeleteUm, yeah, we have two intense ones. Sheba will love anyone that comes near the fence, but the other two...not so much. LOL
ReplyDeleteI always like the intense dogs more than the friendly ones. They remind me of how I often act aloof when I'm really just afraid to be warm and open to those I don't know. So yeah, give that intense dog a bit of verbal love next time, okay? Cheers and woof, woof.
ReplyDeleteBOL! You had me laughing so much I had to share with Denton!! ;-)
ReplyDeletehello pooch smooches its dennis the vizsla dog hay i always thawt intense and border collie wer synonyms!!! but i gess not always!!! ha ha ok bye
ReplyDeleteAt least you can say hi to one of them!
ReplyDeleteTrash talking Border Collie...what a great place to walk.
