Wordless Wednesday: She Just Wakes Up This Way

Why do people say someone's a "dog" if they think that person's unattractive? Makes no sense. Dogs are gorgeous!

I mean, siriusly. No makeup, no hair product. No weird sheet creases across her face. She just wakes up this beautiful!

Wish I did!

Thanks to BlogPaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday! Thank you for letting me be wordy! You can check out all the blogs in the hop here.

  3. It's kind of like saying sick as a dog, where is it coming from. Mom had to laugh because Bailie and I were really sick in November, so she kept telling everyone we were both sick as a dog!

  4. Hi Y'all!

My Human wishes she woke up in the morning all dressed with all her hair in place too!

My Human told me y'all will never be able to wake up all perfect like us 'cause of some apple in some garden somewhere.

    Y'all come on by,

    1. Hmmm, those apples in that garden started a whole lotta problems!

  6. I agree! I wish I could wake up and go every day!

    1. Well.... now that I think about it, they do have that "ugly dog" contest every year though....

  8. Totally agree! Though we've had dogs that had a bit of trouble with some bed head ;-)

    1. We've never had a bed-head dog, but our beagle used to wake up with what we'd call "sleepy ears". When she first woke up, her ears would hang extra limply until she was awake enough to control them.

    2. Jeffie usually had a good case of bed head going... miss my hairy boy.

  9. I've never understood that expression or allowed anyone to say that around me. That and "work like a dog" when "work" to a dog is actually "play." No one who knows dogs could say that.

    1. Yeah, "work like a dog" makes no sense either. Dogs love their jobs. Rita takes her security assignments very seriously and loves her work!

  10. And when a guy whistles/hoots at a pretty girl, it's called Cat Calling.....funny how our expressions arise!

    1. And if you're attractive, you're a "fox." I don't necessarily think foxes are anymore gorgeous than dogs! They're both gorgeous. Expressions are funny. There are so many we say that make no sense when you really think about them.

  11. Ha - you've never seen B's face after a long nap. Sometimes her lip is pushed up and her face looks a little weird on that side. But you are right, dogs (most of them anyway, let's face it, there ARE a few uggos in the canine world) look good naturally. Whenever B tries to wake me up early or in the middle of the night I grumble at her, "Look, missy, unlike some dogs, I actually need every single minute of beauty sleep I can get!".

    1. haha. True. I forgot about "smoosh-face", which is what we call that. Our beagle used to wake up with smoosh-face a lot! Rita never does! And, yes, I need my beauty sleep too!

  12. LOL. Yes, I agree ...it takes me much more time and effort to look OK enough to leave the house each day.

  13. Oh, I wish that were true. I would love to wake up in the morning, fully dressed and looking great, lol!

  14. Gosh that would save mom some time to wake up and be beautiful and ready to go like us!

  15. Good point you are exactly right! Our walks would start a lot earlier if mom didn't have to fix her hair. Love Dolly

  16. Cole says "you're lucky Rita... naturally beautiful. My hair is always bed tangled til I shake it up enough, rub on my peeps, and stick my head in a bush"

  17. So true. Dogs wake up beautiful and ready to enjoy the day. They don't concern themselves with how they look or any of the other silly stuff that only humans worry about.

  18. Totally!! She is beautiful. I think it's a compliment. I want to be more like my dog. Beautiful outside but most important beautiful inside!!

  19. Me too! Dogs are lucky to just be beautiful all the time!

  20. She sure is beautiful!! I've never seen an ugly dog either.

  21. Dogs are great, and beautiful. Dogs are the best. What I love most about them is that they don't give a damn how they look, or how anyone else looks. Even odd looking dogs walk with a confident bounce. I love that! I wish humans would put less emphasis on looks and more on what's inside. Imagine how great it would be if we all got up each morning excited (excited!!) to go outside and run through the woods instead of dragging ourselves out of bed and reaching for the coffee. Cheers and hope you're having a great week.

  22. Have you ever seen a cat wake up with bed hair, either? MOL

  23. Haha. Mr. N wakes up with a smushed mustache if he sleeps the wrong way.

  24. That is an odd phrase. Rita is gorgeous and we'd all be lucky to wake up so beautiful.

  25. Wish I woke up beautiful too! As I sit here thinking I should get the hair dye out. Why couldn't I just wake up and it was done. Have a great weekend.

  26. She epitomizes how gorgeous someone looks after they've had a "good nights sleep"

  27. We agree - she is beautiful!
Your post was a little extra special to me today because as I was heading out (before I got to the library and saw your post), I looked at each of the pack and thought about how beautiful they all are in their own special way.
