I mean... we live with them, we kiss them, I write books about them, I blog about them, I wear clothes with them on, etc.
Yep, we're dog crazy!
If we're friends on Facebook, you know the hubs and I also love beer. (If we're not friends on Facebook, why not? Go friend me!)
I often post pics of the hubs buying beer...
Or me drinking beer...
Okay, this is me drinking THREE beers |
Or just pretty pictures of beer...
So, when I saw an ad for the Paws & Pints fundraiser here in San Diego on May 28th, I had to check it out!
Paws & Pints is in support of FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters). There will be a silent auction, a live auction, plus a raffle and door prizes! It's being held at the La Jolla Brewing Company, which isn't too far from where we live.
The only bummer (for us) is the date! The hubs is having (another) knee surgery a few days before, and I'm not sure he'll be up to standing around at an event so we'll see how he feels. Hopefully we'll be able to attend. I know most of my blog readers aren't in San Diego, but if you are - check out this event! It should be fun! (You don't need a ticket, but a $10 donation and RSVP are suggested although not required.)
Since I'm not sure we'll be able to go, but I still wanted to participate in some way, I donated a signed copy of both What the Dog Ate and Rescue Me, Maybe. They'll be part of the silent auction.
I hope the event will be a big success for FOCAS and the local animal shelters!
Okay... so no real mischief here. Don't worry - no "paws" were given any "pints" in the making of this post!
Thanks to Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Alfie’s Blog, and My Brown Newfies for hosting Monday Mischief!
What a fun event! We like beer and of course, dogs, in this house, too!
ReplyDeleteRent a wheelchair for the day, then hubby won't need to stand and can even drink extra beer, just so long as you steer the chair ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteWheelchair? Is that like a golf cart? Paws crossed all goes well for the hubby's knee.
Y'all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I prefer wine but hubby loves beer. What a great idea to do Paws and Pints. A bit far for us but will look around here. I have terrible knees. Hope the surgery goes well/ X Susie and Kilo
ReplyDeleteBeer is good. :) Sending good thoughts for your husband's knee surgery!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun event! I hope hubby makes a fast recovery from his surgery.
ReplyDeletePositive thoughts to the "Hubs" on his knee surgery. I can't do the beer thing - but I'm always up to a good bottle of wine. We could hang out together and never have to share our beverages - how cool is that? LOL Take care and let us know how the surgery turns out - Prayers!
ReplyDeleteCool event. There's always some sort of beer event going on here!
ReplyDeleteGet him a wheel chair. That way he can drink all the beer he wants without a fear of falling, but you will need to hold back so you can drive ;)
ReplyDeleteWe love beer and dogs too! Such a great event! We had one a couple weeks ago but were out of town!
ReplyDeleteWe just enjoyed a Pints for Paws in our town at a local micro-brewery. They raised over $10,000 in one 24 hours donation drive! I hope that yours is just as successful. As a two-time knee surgery victim, give your husband my best wishes. ☺
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool event, I hope it is a big success. Good luck with your hubs knee surgery.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome event! County shelters need SO much help, they're forever underfunded and understaffed. My hubby is a beer connoisseur (well, that's what he tells me anyway). We are also dog lovers w/ a Siberian Husky, so when I found a beer company called Thirsty Dog with a beer called Siberian Night I had to get it for him. Needless to say he LOVES it!! Hope you have a blast at the event and that your hubby's surgery goes well!
ReplyDeleteLove & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Maybe the hubster could attend the event in a wheelchair to keep him off the recovering knee? I bet you and your sister could come up with some awesome ideas to decorate it so he doesn't feel gimpy.
ReplyDeleteWish you had a like button!

That sounds like so much fun, and definitely right up your alley! I hope your hubby will be feeling up to it (and hope his surgery goes well too).
