Wordless Wed.: A Walk in the Fog with the Dog

We've had some super foggy mornings here lately. Rita's not a huge fan of walking in the fog. She seems to be on high alert, as you can tell from her perked up ears in this pic.

The fog is supposed to clear out and hot weather is on its way. I'm not a huge fan of hot days (we're talking 80s) in the winter, but it beats a blizzard! Rita's not a huge fan of hot weather either - she gets hot in her thick, black coat. At least we'll be able to see what/who else is out there on our walks!

How about you? How's the weather in your 'hood? What do your pets think about it?

  1. Ooh, spooky, Rita! The past few days have been glorious (after weeks of no sun, rain, freezing rain, and snow) We're pretty sure Mother Nature will torment us soon with more truly winter weather. The dogs are loving this break - lots of outdoor fun.

    1. Oh, Rita is glad to hear Jeffie is having a nice early "spring" break! Hope Mother Nature doesn't make you pay for it!

  2. Alas, we get fog in Arizona, but not in the area we are in. I would love to walk in it though, just for the eerie photo effects. It is in the 80s here. Blueberry isn't a fan of this weather for hiking. We usually end up going early in the morning around sunrise or later around sunset. I am concerned that we are already in the 80s and it is only February. I reckon that means we are in for an even hotter summer than we are used to. Blech. Ptooey.

    1. Ugh, we hate to hike in really hot weather too -unless there's a stream. Rita loves to have a wee bit of water to lie down in. We say bleh and ptooey, too.

  4. That's a lot of fog Rita we'd be on high alert too, you never know what/who might be in there ! We've had some cold but sunny days here in London but we can't wait for Spring to come. WW Woofs from The Dogvine Crew

  6. Something about a nice foggy walk feels so intimate! Enjoy! Much better than the snow here which has us trapped indoors! *wags* - Gilligan from WagsAhoy.com

  7. Very cold - bone chilling cold, no dampness so we're good. Still no real snow yet - but I'm good with that. Enjoy your tropical heat wave for us!

  8. Super cold weather is headed here for the weekend. 12 degrees Saturday night then a HIGH of 19 on Sunday with lots of wind to make it all the more unbearable. My cold tolerance is low this year so I am not a happy camper with this forecast!

  9. Mom and Katie got lost in the fog on the North Sea Coast once. It took almost half an hour for them to find their way back to the mainland. I guess it was pretty scary. The fog rolls in before you know it and you are stuck. Hope it doesn't get too warm over there.

  10. It's cold here, perfect for a long poodle coat. Cole is frisky in the cold, walked a mile with daddy this morning, then spasmed out and slept off the muscle relaxant all day for mommy. Clinging to me now... poor boy. Plays with dad, wants mom when he feels poorly.

  11. Mom hates when she has to drive in the fog. Our weather has been unseasonably warm, which means high 50's. We are sure winter will raise it's ugle head again before too long

  18. It warmed up for a few days last weekend and the beginning of this week, but now we're headed back to the deep freeze! *sigh*

  19. That is a crazy thick fog! Mauja and Atka aren't the biggest fans of the heat either, but I cannot wait for warmth!

  21. We have tunnels in the snow. The dogs are looking for the groundhog (I suspect they want to make stew or mincemeat out of him) and it is cold. BUT the sun is warm which means spring is on her way and we are so excited for that!

  22. You've probably read what I think about the weather, and I'll just say I'm really jealous of yours! Though too hot isn't great either. If only everyone's weather could always be just right!

  24. Haha I loved your 80 degrees last week and soaked up every second of UV light for our return. Wisely as it turns out. Our wind chill has been in single digits for two days now. I hated to come back to winter!

  25. I'm not fond of it either! I don't like that muffled feeling you get in fog, and tend to just stay inside on foggy days.
