Monday Mischief: Picking Granite to Match Your Dog

Remember a while back when I mentioned my bro and sis-in-law were re-doing their master bath, and my bro selected the granite because it matched his brindle mastiff's coat?

Well, it's all installed now, so here's the final product next to the inspiration:
Leo next to the new shower bench

As you can see, Leo is a bit of a reluctant model. (He's SUCH a big sweetie!)

Have you ever selected carpeting, sofas or other home fixtures to match your pup?

Thanks to my sis-in-law for sending the pics, and thanks Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Alfie’s Blog, and My Brown Newfies for hosting Monday Mischief!

  1. I always take a color palette with me when I shop for interior furnishings. It consists of dog fur. Fortunately my dogs are thoughtful enough to have colors I like to live with.

That marble is such a great match.

  4. Haha that is really funny! It turned out great though. I can honestly say I've never tried to match anything to my dog before... maybe one day!

  5. Looking good! Mom never buys furniture or things to match us, but all us pets have to match, like we could never have an orange cat...just doesn't fit our fur schema, and our collars have to look right as well.

  6. No we have never bought something to match the dogs, although we joke we picked Phod because he matched the floor in the new house! It seems to me as great a reason to pick a pattern!

  7. Can't say that I have! Your bro did a very good job matching Leo though. Very nice shower too. We have a walk in shower also, and don't tell Leo, but that's where we give our dogs their baths!

  8. I picked out carpet with many flex of different colors to hide puke stains.

  9. Ha! Well, considering the various colors of our dogs, it's hard to plan furnishings around them! :P I think they all look good on the couch, though!

  10. LOL now that is a good idea. I bet a designer couldn't come up with something so clever. It turned out great too.

  11. It does look great! It never occurred to me to do that. Poor Leo, he does seem to know exactly what that little room is for!

  12. That's great...it IS a striking color scheme. We've never done anything like that, but when we put in new floors about a while back, it turned out quite accidentally that the color matches Meadow's fur exactly.

Now if only I had matched it to the two dogs that shed copious amounts of fur. :-)

  15. Gorgeous dog... gorgeous tile! Love this! (And poor Leo is wondering what he deserved to get treated like this)

  16. Leo's worried they're planning on him spending too much time in there with the matching granite!! :)

My Mum's considered having a sweater made out of my spare fur so she could be matching! :)

Hope you're having a fun day

    Your pal Snoopy :)

  17. Love the color coordination. :) (Most of my home totally matches the dogs - it wasn't on purpose, but I think my subconscious was looking out for me.)

  18. Poor sweet guy worried about a shower. :-) If I had a dog that color I'd probably try to match the granite too. What a beauty he is!
