Monday Mischief: Another Mischief-Maker in the House

Rita is generally a very good, calm girl and doesn't get up to a whole lotta mischief.

Sometimes, though we still end up with mischief in the house, coming from the direction of The Daddy.

Like this weekend. Saturday I went with my sisters to the annual dog show in town, where I bought Rita a bag of duck feet. (Human grade, USA-sourced duck feet. Good stuff!) They were, of course, a hit with Rita.

Sunday I asked the hubs to go get Rita a duck foot for her afternoon treat. And then I tried to go about my business.

Only to have this happen:
Of course he can't just give the duck foot to the dog. He has to torture me with it a little first.

And torture the dog too. "Daddy, just give me the darn duck foot already!"
"Duck foots is not toys, Daddy!"
"Finally. Sheesh. People."
Do you have human mischief makers in your house too?

Thanks to Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Alfie’s Blog, and My Brown Newfies for hosting Monday Mischief!

  2. Yes, I have a big mischief making human in my house! Men never do grow up!

While those duck feet are a marvelous treat, I don't like handling them. Sort of greasy.Definitely wouldn't want one in my ear. Eww!

    1. Yeah, they are a little greasy and stinky and generally creepy. But, I opted to pay $1 extra to get the bag o' duck feet instead of chicken feet - cuz the chicken feet are even creepier, what with the individual "toes" and all.

  3. Oh yes we do! It is not unusual to go grocery shopping with my husband and turn back to the shopping cart only to find pig snout or some weird food staring at me! Naturally, I holler and break into gales of laughter which only makes it worse! LOL!

    1. That's so funny. Makes me glad the hubs doesn't generally go shopping with me. He's also the worst for running off with the cart, leaving me wondering where he's gone, with my arms full of groceries.

    1. Oh, yeah, I'm sure you'd love them Stella Rose! Rita says they are crunchy and delicious! The only bummer is that they don't last very long! Munch, munch, munch and they're gone!

  5. The daddy's think they are such jokesters sometimes don't they? Yeah, ha-ha, not funny.

  6. Oh yes! If I ask the hubs to feed the dogs, he takes that moment to torture them instead.

  7. How does she do with them? Delilah is such a gobbler, I'm afraid to try her on them. :-(

    1. She loves them, but they don't last long. She's not a gobbler and chews things pretty slowly, so I don't worry about her wolfing them down, but they only last about 5 min.

  11. Yikes! Mom used to see stuff like that when she flew to Asia. Not sure if she would buy those for us or not but I bet they are tasty!

    1. Yes, the hubs say stuff like that in Asia too. He's even eaten chicken feet himself!

  15. Kinda the pot calling the kettle black, woman-who-poked-me-with-a-duck-foot-while-I-was-driving. (That can be your Native American name.) Indy enjoyed her duck foot, although at first she was kinda like "What is THAT?" Thanks, Rota, for sharing.

  16. My boyfriend does this to me, but only with bugs. If I ask him to kill a bug for me, he has to chase me with it afterwards. No thanks!

  17. Roooo that's a whole lot of torture right there - for both human and canines *Waggy tail* I saw an Emu foot in my raw food shop the other day - it was MASSIVE and my human wouldn't let me have it! *waggy tail*

  18. Hehehe, I do that to DK, but with chicken feet. I don't know how he tolerates me so well.

I dehydrate chicken feet for the dogs myself. It's much, much, much cheaper that way :)

  19. Haha - Daddy sounds like fun!

Maybe I shouldn't tell you this one, but my Dad hates picking up the poop and will only do it if he's on his own - Mum thinks it's funny to torment him with the bag when she's bravely picked it up (she thinks it's no big deal!) - she even threatens to hurl it his way - Dad doesn't think this is funny, but Mum's always giggling! :)

    I hope you're having a fun day,

    Your pal Snoopy :)

  20. That is too funny....the expression on poor Rita's face....she looks so sad....crazy, silly humans!
My hubby is one of those who likes to fake throw the ball....the dogs are not impressed with that kind of mischief!

  21. Where have I been that I've never heard of duck feet for dogs?

Yet another animal part that I have been withholding from my poor deprived dogs who were the last to get pig ears and ox tails.
