December Dog Photo Challenge - Plus Bloopers!

Rita and I decided to join Spencer the Goldendoodle's December Dog Photo Challenge for a fun way to be inspired this month with our photos that we post on Instagram and Facebook. (It's not too late to join! Check out the link to Spencer's page and join us!)

I thought I'd share some of the bloopers today! (We always have many since Rita isn't in love with getting her picture taken. And, wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I posted twice in one week! I'm really enjoying my new once/week schedule, but I wanted to share this before December was half over!)

The other day, the word was SWEATER. With Rita's thick coat + our San Diego weather, she's not a sweater girl, so instead I had her pose with #bearsinsweaters. I got this adorable photo:
But not until after I took all of these blooper shots!
Crazy eyes.
"I don't want to do this, Momma."
"Gee, this bear smells terrific."
"I should probably remove this tag."
"Mmmm. Bear butt."
And, then, magically, she stopped chewing on him and I rearranged the bears, and she gave me her winning smile - photo shoot done. #Christmasmiracle.

If we're not connected on Instagram or Facebook (let's!), here are all our pics so far:

Day 1: JOY

Day 2: STOCKING

Day 3: MANGER (note - the bite marks on baby Jesus's head are NOT from Rita. Those are from angel Abby!)

Day 4: GLITTER (Thought she'd pose all cute next to my fake, glittery poinsettia - but no... she decided to attack them!) #glittereverywhere

Day 5: RED (#myearisallwonky)

Day 6: SWEATER (above)

Day 7: SCARF (Rita insists they meant the verb!)

Day 8: TREE (There's a Christmas tree waaaay back at the end of the pier.)

 Join us!  It's fun!
(It's not like you don't already have a million things to do for Christmas! Right??) :)

Honestly... I don't know if I'll make it every day myself, once things start to get really crazy closer to the 25th, but we'll see.... :)

    1. I've really been enjoying participating. I'm trying to enjoy the holiday prep more this year - rather than just doing it all at a manic pace! We'll see if i can keep it up!

  2. My dogs refuse to have their pictures taken. They just leave the area when they spot a camera. They must think their souls will be taken. Love Rita's pictures...very photogenic.

    1. Rita never walks away, but she often looks away! She finds the camera in her face oh so boring! Maybe she's finally getting used to it though, since she looked and gave me that great smile in that bear photo..

  3. Sounds like a fun challenge but I'll never make it! I'll be lucky to post at all as I'll be back at full time work starting Monday.

  4. You've been getting some great shots! I love where Rita is attacking the glittery poinsettias!
Good for you doing this - I find just getting ready for the holidays challenging enough! :)

    1. I usually find just getting ready a challenge as well, but this year I've been taking time to enjoy it more. It helps that I have hardly any presents to buy! :)

  5. Great photos for the themes. Rita does look a bit disappointed in "scarf".

    1. Yes, "scarf" was a major disappointment! :) But she got to scarf some treats after for being such a good model!

  6. Love how she likes to "kill" things in those outtakes! It does sound easy posting a photo a day, but it gets hard after the first few days. We are stocking up days ahead when we have the chance to make it easier.

    1. I should stock up too! I need to do that this week. Some of them will be hard for us - like "snow" and "wonderland." It's in the 60s here!

  7. I haven't been able to do Spencer's challenge every day, but I did a few so far. I'll be gone for a week, so I might take some pics and schedule them like a real professional blogger/social media person! What a concept.

You are so creative. I skipped "Sweater" day because I don't have any dog sweaters. It never occurred to me to pose them with someone/something else wearing a sweater. Jeesh, my brain! Good job, Jackie! :)

    1. I might try to take some pics ahead, but... is it possible to schedule Facebook and Instagam posts? I don't even know! Not exactly a pro at this stuff! :)

  8. Booker T says Rita always takes great pictures. Booker T and Cassius take great blurs. I really like the scarf one as well as the one with the bears. What a cute thing to do!

    1. Most of the time she looks away when I point the phone at her, so I'm surprised what cute pics I've gotten of her. That bear one kills me.

  9. If I posted all the bloopers of my two doofus's, I'd be even further behind getting ready for the 'howlidays.' If I try to create a scene, I can't reach my camera quick enough to even capture a blooper. These two fur-kids are way too wily and clever for their upright! BOL Yours are way too adorable.
