Less-Wordy Wednesday: A Photo Tribute to a New Angel

Sadly, our family lost another pup over the holidays - my sister's dog, Indy. Since it's Wordless Wed., I've got a little tribute to her in pictures:
A painting my other sis did of Indy
You long time blog readers will recognize Indy from all the Christmas windows we've painted of her over the years, like this year's Muttly Kalikimaka:

And last year's Fleas Navidad:

Or an early window of Indy as the Grinch's Max:

She was an adorable muttly, who had very expressive ears:

She loved many things, like watching the world go by:

Snuggling:

Having snacks:

Playing with her squeaky squirrels and other toys.

Her uncle, the hubs:

She did NOT, however, like other dogs, so most of the dogs in our family never met her. But late in life she did make a friend - Blackie. It was kind of a huge deal!

She came to stay with us while my sis was traveling shortly after our beagle, Bailey, passed, and she helped us by giving us lots of loving while we were missing Bailey.

It was a very sad day when we went over to say goodbye to her!
A few last kisses...
... and a few more nibbles on her squirrel

Indy won the doggie lotto when my sis rescued her from the shelter. My sis took great care of Indy and helped her through a lot of her reactivity issues. She was a super sweet girl and lived a long, happy life with my sis. They were lucky to find each other.

Hopefully Indy is romping now with the other dogs in the family who've gone before her. (Gosh, there are so many: Barney, Sugar, Cas, Lou, Lady, Smiley, Lazar, Dannie, Bailey & Abby.) And, uh, hopefully she likes other pups better in the afterlife than she did here. :)

My sis is a fan and supporter of Best Friends (as are we), so we made a donation today in Indy's memory. Indy may be gone but she won't be forgotten.

There is never "enough" time to spend with our furry family members, so be sure to make the most of today! Hug 'em if you got 'em, people!

Thanks to Blogpaws for hosting Wordless Wednesday!

  3. Thank you for the tribute Jackie. I am so sorry for your family's loss. However, that list of dog angels is a list of a truly awesome family. My family has a similar list and one of the first things my aunt said when my grandfather died was how happy she was about all of the dog kisses he was going to get when reunited with all the dogs he loved.

  4. So sorry for your loss. What a sweet girl and we are so happy she had such a wonderful life. Some homeless pets really do win the lottery when they find a home.
